We're engaged in a protracted mass communications battle, a contest of propagandas, Their object is to prop up the system's legitimacy; ours precisely the opposite. The core of a system's illegitimacy is nothing more nor less than its easily demonstrable Orwellian nature. If it claims to be a democracy it must be a plutocracy; if it proclaims to defend the safety of its population, it actively endangers it; if it struts around loudly shouting its allegiance to freedom and the rule of law, it is in actuality a cynical hidden dictatorship; If it brags about its "free press", then you know for sure that it is an abject, servile tool of the power elites. Of course the most infamous contradiction is that when this hypocritical scum kneel before the altar of peace they are actively engaged in making war. On and on. Always the opposite of what it claims. In America, especially, anyone awake can see that readily. Libya’s model is being replicated in Syria. So far, it’s short of war. For how long is uncertain. Expect it if current tactics fail. More on that below. At issue is regime change, establishing another client state, and isolating Iran ahead of similar tactics there. It’s part of America’s Middle East project to redraw the region according to US/Israeli geopolitical aims.

Washington’s dirty hands lie behind what’s happening. Partners include Israel, Britain, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Lebanon’s March 8 Alliance, Jordan, and other despotic Arab League states. Continue reading »

Editor’s Note: As TGP contributor Lendman points out, a great deal of the hoopla and excess surrounding Thanksgiving is not just inappropriate (and considering the state of the world, obscene) but largely based on mythologies conducive to facilitating escapism and a reinforcing of the status quo in the U.S. The festivity also serves to strengthen the religious miasma that accurses this nation, and certifies our species blindness to the massive suffering of other creatures. —PG

On November 25, 2009, a New York Times editorial headlined, “A Thanksgiving Toast,” saying:

“Sitting down with friends and family today, there will be thanks for the steady currents, flowing out of the past, that have brought us to this table….And there will be prayerful thanks for the future.”
