On Mar 18, 2018 Sen. Rand Paul appeared on CBS Face the Nation to discuss Trump's latest appointments for State and CIA's top slots, Mike Pompeo and Gina Haspel, respectively. He clearly wanted to question the sheer imbecility if not criminality implicit in these appointments, but the host, Margaret Brennan was clearly bent on running interference for the CIA and the Deep State, doing her best to defend war criminal Haspel, a fact noted by the people watching this exchange. Brennan ludicrously sought refuge for her twisted defense of Haspel in the opinions of a CIA vermin turned CBS "intelligence commentator," the odious Mike Morrell. Read the sampling below, and you'll see that presstitutes like Brennan are no longer fooling everyone, a healthy development—at long last. One more thing: While Rand Paul couched his comments in the usual tissue of exceptionalist rubbish, his commentary was overall a breath of fresh air in a climate in which there is almost a total blockade against anyone questioning the holiness of US foreign policy and the "good intent" of America's spy agencies.—PG

She was ridiculously deferential to the CIA. Who watches these shows (when Rand's not on)
Margaret Brennan was rude to Senator Rand Paul, talking over him and not allowing him to finish his answers. Her facial expressions, tone of voice and questions made it clear that she supports Haskel becoming director of the CIA. Her excuse for asserting that is that torture was not illegal when Haskel was supervising torture and then destroying potential evidence by destroying the tapes. That torture was "legal" at the time- how crazy was that?- is no excuse for supervising torture and participating in it. That your supervisor says to destroy potential evidence is not an excuse for actually doing so. As Senator Paul said- she could have protested, but she apparently didn't. I am sure tnat Nazis at Nuremberg might have asserted that what they did was "legal" at the time they did it. Torture is a crime against humanity even if a country makes it legal. Haskel is accountable for what she did, and should not be confirmed for the CIA directorship position. And I am DONE watching Face the Nation until Brennan leaves. John Dickerson was a wonderful host for the show. He was intelligent, compassionate, fair, polite and had a gentle sense of humor. I miss him a great deal.

This anchor literally acts like an asset of the deep state, running interference for the F-ing CIA. It's shameful that CBS news is apparently an advocate, first and foremost, for the permanent bureaucracy in Washington.
