BARRY GREY—The anti-Russia campaign revived the witch-hunting methods of the McCarthyite red scare. Its aim was threefold: first, to create an atmosphere of hysteria to justify preparations for war against nuclear-armed Russia; second, to channel the mass popular opposition to Trump in a right-wing, pro-war direction; and, third, to create a pretext for internet censorship and other attacks on democratic rights. It was part of a broader, international anti-Russia witch hunt, including the fabricated allegation that Putin was behind the poisoning of Russian expatriate Sergei Skripal and his daughter in England.

TIM KIRBY—Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team lost another key member as it was slowly grinding to a halt. In the Red Scare style hunt for collusion with the Russians they have yet to even indict, let alone convict, one member of the Trump campaign for some sort of hidden work or submission to the Russians. This is not proof that there was no collusion but after two years one would hope to see some sort of proof that there is. In America you are still innocent until proven guilty or is that position too right wing?

RENEE PARSONS—As Gabbard well knows, the charge that Assad gassed his own people has been refuted by no less an authority than former US Defense Secretary James Mattis who has said there is ‘no evidence.” Perhaps Gabbard had a bad hair day in flubbing her lines but given the embedded support for war in the Democratic party, it will behoove her to step up her game, take the risk and tell the truth – even when face to face with the likes of McCain or Colbert. In her recent standing-room-only appearance before enthusiastic students from the University of San Francisco, Gabbard linked domestic issues directly to the ‘cost of wasteful regime change wars’ ending with “I do not need the foreign policy establishment to tell me what to do” and that I am “not intimidated by stars on the shoulders or the military industrial complex.”

JOAQUIN FLORES—Flores explains: “In Yugoslavia, this was a planned process. This is important for people to understand today, whether it was Yugoslavia in the 1990’s or Libya, Syria or Ukraine, these were not spontaneous uprisings of people. These are planned revolutions, with graphs and charts and war rooms. Thousands of people just don’t show up, it has to be organized.”

ERIC ZUESSE—As America’s Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty reported this on March 22nd, under the headline “G7 Letter Takes Aim At Role Of Violent Extremists In Ukrainian Society, Election”, the G7’s concern referred specifically to “products of the Azov Battalion.” This battalion is (though RFERL carefully ignores the fact) a white-supremacist Ukrainian organization. Its founder and leader, Andrei Biletsky (or “Beletsky”), calls his movement “Ukrainian Social Nationalism,” and he has laid out in writing its program as “racial purification of the Nation” and specifically as a return to “old Ukrainian Aryan values forgotten in modern society.” His followers had, under Obama (during and since the coup), powerfully helped to install the far-right new regime, which now possibly could finally end — Obama’s coup in Ukraine thus to become terminated in abject failure (which it actually already is) and ultimately abandonment by the Europeans (unless the U.S. Government gets out of there).
