Ruling Class War Games at the White House

GLEN FORD—The herd of corporate operatives that calls itself a White House press corps is up in arms over the Trump administration’s cancellation of CNN correspondent Jim Acosta’s press pass, last week. Acosta’s bosses at CNN, owned by AT&T’s WarnerMedia conglomerate, have filed suit, charging White House staffers and an unnamed Secret Service agent with violating Acosta’s rights to freedom of the press and due process of law.

Colbert: Egging Trump to destabilize Korea, again

PATRICE GREANVILLE—It remains ironic that the lethal absurdity of the North-South stalemate, which could have triggered a nuclear war in Korea quickly engulfing the rest of Asia and the planet, was broken precisely by Trump’s outrageous threats and ultimatums, all of which finally made perfectly clear to South Koreans and the rest of the world that Washington was quite ready to sacrifice them all to achieve its miserable objectives. It helped of course that the South Korean people—after many struggles— finally got rid of the last US supported crony-capitalist tyrant on Seoul’s throne, and replaced her with Moon Jae-in, a politician of great skill, vision and courage.

Francis Fukuyama and the End of Social Media Freedoms

ROBERT BRIDGE—The social media monsters argue that since they do not create original content, but rather mindlessly provide the clean slate, as it were, for third-party developers to post their own thoughts, opinions, news and of course wild-eyed ‘conspiracy theories,’ they cannot be bound by the same rules and regulations as the mainstream media, which must bear ultimate responsibility for its increasingly damaged goods.

James Corden: Dissing Putin to please the empire

PATRICE GREANVILLE—James Corden, another humble Briton who made good in America’s gianormous entertainment industry is clearly grateful for his good luck. Unfortunately, like his compatriot John Oliver, the personable Corden, along with the rest of the current stable of establishment comedians (Bill Maher, Steven Colbert, etc.) is much too eager or clueless to show fealty to his true oligarchic masters at every turn, so I doubt he needed much prodding to involve himself in this deplorable exhibition:
