am going to keep hammering and hammering on this point until I see that…
EDITOR—Alex Christoforou’s commentary (topics 1306 and 1307)—US House, Ukraine chants and flags. Mike Johnson is Churchill. Blinken to deliver ultimatum to China Topic 1306. One day later, (topic 1307) the tune has changed: now victory is not assured, and the only question is how and whether Ukraine can slow the Russian advance.
EDITOR—Guest Mike Mihajlovic is a Serbian engineer and expert in military matters. He explains to the panel the realities of new artillery tools and AD batteries, such as the Patriot, plus new superior bombs and missiles developed by Russia, the use of drones, and how Ukraine could possibly protect itself from Russia’s attacks when it is not just short of artillery and AD, but the qualified personnel to use these weapons to maximum effectiveness. Mihajlovic also notes that Russia is fighting at a fraction of its capability. Once it escalates to full war status, the defeat of Kiev will occur very quickly. The panel also examines the successful tactics used by Iran to defeat Israeli/Allied AD, something the Western public has not been informed about.
CALEB MAUPIN—Caleb tries to explain what he saw at Columbia, as well as clarify many misunderstandings—such as “materialism”, “overproduction”, “contradiction”— relating to terms used by Marxists in their analysis of history and society. Newcomers to socialism tend to use such terms without properly understanding their technical meaning.
EDITOR—Cynical deception using sex: A Western specialty, and Ukraine’s ample supply of beautiful women for hire, combine to produce impudent propaganda like this. The young babe probably doesn’t know or doesn’t care that she’s pushing a lie with frightful consequences. All the easier for Mordor to enlist her in its despicable campaign of lies.
JEFF J. BROWN—”The ROK Right-wing, as I said, is descended from people who collaborated with the Japanese in the colonial occupation and benefitted from Japan’s annexation of Korea.
The ROK’s wealthy elite have simply switched one master for another. They worship big powers and hate their own countrymen. They hate Korea and love Japan and America. They want ROK to be subordinated to Japan and USA forever because they benefit from such a state…”
DEMOCRACY NOW—In nearly four hours of grueling congressional testimony before the Republican-led Committee on Education and the Workforce, the president of Columbia University, Nemat “Minouche” Shafik, said she had taken serious action against accusations of antisemitism on campus in recent months amid Israel’s assault on Gaza, including dismissing or removing five faculty members from the classroom, suspending 15 students and suspending two student groups — Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace. Shafik’s visit to Capitol Hill is the latest in a series of hearings on alleged antisemitism at elite U.S. private schools.
GARLAND NIXON—LAITH MAROUF—Garland and Laith discuss the repercussions of Iran’s “warning” (or “symbolic”) strike on Israel, an effort to serve notice to this lunatically criminal entity that its provocations and international murders will not be further tolerated. The Iranian drone and missile attack on Apr 13 was designed, as previously commented, to cause the fewest human casualties, and to gather intelligence on the Israeli/US AD network. Iran’s warning is also good for the “collective West”, including the constantly scheming Hegemon itself. In a new development, as Israel has continued its assassinations of Hezbollah commanders, Hezbollah itself has begun to target and destroy Israeli command centers. Laith also comments on the media blockade on the Israeli mass assassinations (and mass graves recently discovered) of Palestinian victims in various hospital settings—Al Shifa, etc., most of them either patients being cared for or hospital staff, a heinous crime under international law that should have made headlines all over the world, but which Western media has simply memory-holed. Of course, not a pip has been heard from the West’s top leadership, who are too busy supporting the depraved Zionist regime.
JOHN VAROLI—Besides that, however, the fact is that the Russian military is now far too strong and determined. Russian soldiers understand that their country once again faces an existential threat from the West, as with Napoleon’s invasion of Russia in 1812 and Hitler’s in 1941.
The heroism of Russian soldiers is impressive. The ability of their officers to adapt and innovate has confounded U.S. generals. The dedication of Russia’s defense industries to supply the front is stunning. (Remember spring and summer 2022 when NATO officials told us that Russia would soon run out of weapons?)
RAMIN MAZAHERI—On a practical level – could Ukraine have not gone down the path they have chosen?
Absolutely, and easily – but it is a failed state, with a failed ideology, structures, goals, etc and etc. Todd accurately stresses how the proofs of this suicide are legion. What else can we call but suicidal Kiev’s decision to keep courting a totally uninterested (and rapacious, I’d add) EU instead of Russia, with whom its major industries were already linked? A “victory” there is economic suicide, unless they can vastly expand the production of surrogate babies. What can we call the elimination of the Russian language, church and culture – all inextricably linked and seemingly dialects of the same concepts – but more suicidal self-hatred?
ERIC ZUESSE—The “Supplemental” this year (Ukraine+Gaza+Taiwan) totals to $95.3B, which causes the original $886B ‘Defense’ (or Aggression) budget for this fiscal year to be: $886B+752.5B+95.3B=$1,733,800 billion, or $1.734T. However, even that is incomplete, because the entire U.S. intelligence community, CIA, DIA, and the many others, is classified, its budgets are secret, hidden from the public, and, of course, these are also important parts of the U.S. military; so, perhaps annual U.S. military spending is now around $2T. On 12 March 2024, the U.S. Director of National Intelligence headlined “DNI RELEASES FY 2025 BUDGET REQUEST FIGURE FOR THE NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE PROGRAM” and publicly revealed (in accord with a 2007 law) “the aggregate amount of $73.4 billion in requested appropriations for the Fiscal Year 2025 National Intelligence Program (NIP),” and on 20 April 2024 I shall request from the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community the IC’s latest Audit Report in order to determine how complete that $73.4B figure is. I start with the assumption that it is the bare minimum of what the complete number is, and that what the maximum might be, and what the reality is, have remained top secret in this dictatorship.
