Considering that humans have hunted and maligned the fox for thousands of years, and that common hunters, farmers, and idle aristocratic idiots still enjoy tearing them to pieces for fun, it is indeed heartwarming to see at least one kind interaction between a fox and a human. It does not redeem what we have done to them, but it’s a start. (Incidentally, foxes are closer to cats than to dogs.)
