Story to Follow: Safe Zones a la Putin/Trump
So there was more to the phone call than was at first announced: the American and Russian Presidents have agreed to set up safe zones in Syria that are totally different from the ‘no fly’ version espoused by Obama.
A no-fly zone would have provoked a war between Russia and the US, as the latter would have abrogated itself the right to deny the legal government of Syria — and its ally, Russia — the right to fly over the designated area, as in previous US-led decimations of Middle Eastern — or Muslim — countries.
The safe zones proposed by Trump/Putin would be areas which the two outside nations would be committed to protecting. They would provide food, shelter, medical care and probably schools to the thousands who have fled combat zones, enabling them to stay in their own country instead of trying to reach and be accepted in other lands.
[dropcap]A [/dropcap]no-fly zone would have provoked a war between Russia and the US, as the latter would have abrogated itself the right to deny the legal government of Syria — and its ally, Russia — the right to fly over the designated area, as in previous US-led decimations of Middle Eastern — or Muslim — countries.
The reason for the US/Russia agreement is that both governments believe different races should live in harmony each in their own territory. They believe it was a fatal mistake for Europe to open its borders to black and brown refugees from the US wars in Africa and the Middle East. While the US media covers the frenzy of demonstrations against Trump’s clumsily implemented decision to bar entry to visa holders from a (short) list of Muslim countries that fail to include the biggest funder of ISIS and Al Queda, Saudi Arabia and its Gulf satraps, it also fails to link this headline-making order to the Big Picture: a worldwide movement by mainly Christian Caucasians to keep themselves separate from the other races on the planet.
While Vladimir Putin espouses a “let’s all get along together” version known as a ‘multi-polar world order”, together with China, India, Brazil and South Africa, Donald Trump’s version has a white-sheeted past hanging over it, which he may not be able to ditch, as suggested by the enthronement of Alt-Right spokesperson Steve Bannon on the National Security Council.
P.S. Donald Trump’s promise that the US will no longer try to run the world suggests that he agrees with Vladimir Putin’s idea of multi-polar leadership, but he is likely to have a difficult time converting the US deep state.

After spending half a decade in Eastern Europe, and a decade in the U.S., studying Global Survival and writing speeches in the Carter State Department, she wrote the only book that foresaw the fall of the Berlin Wall AND the dissolution of the Soviet Union (“Une autre Europe, un autre Monde’). Her memoir, ‘Lunch with Fellini, Dinner with Fidel’, tells it all. ‘A Taoist Politics: The Case for Sacredness’, which examines the similarities between ancient wisdom and modern science and what this implies for political activism; and ‘America Revealed to a Honey-Colored World” is a pamphlet about how the U.S. came down from the City on a Hill’.
