The local media site “El Tiempo” reported that the ELN’s Jose Maria Becerra was responsible for the killings and attributed it to a dispute between insurgent groups and criminal groups that emerged after the demobilization of former guerrilla group FARC over the control of coca fields. Locals say the victims, aging between 20 and 35 years, are not part of the community.
