What are some facts that show that the United States healthcare system is broken?

She was strangled and her unborn baby was cut from her womb by Clarissa Figueroa and her daughter, while her boyfriend Pete Bobak covered their tracks. The baby was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. Clarissa Figueroa was seen by the ER while there.
After the brutal crime was exposed, Marlen Ochoa’s husband, Yavani Lopez, was devastated. He lost his wife and was now losing his baby boy. The grieving father stayed by his baby boy’s side holding on to hope that he boy would live, despite him having severe a disability if he did. The heartache the young father had was unfathomable. Anyone who followed this story felt deep sympathy for the grieving father.
His beautiful baby boy eventually died, and the grieving husband and father got this…..
A $300,000 dollar medical bill with the killer's name written on the bill.
So not only is the father stuck with the medical bills stemming from this murderous woman and her family, but he also has to see her name show up as if he were her baby boy.
There was a discussion about what happened with the hospital regarding the case; on multiple occasions and they still failed to connect the dots and billed the family in the killer's name.

First, the medical bill is over $300,000 given to a victim of a crime. Second, it is written in the name of the killers despite it being a highly publicized case. The hospital failed to make the connection, and were extremely insensitive.
US healthcare is appalling, insensitive; they are strictly for profit. No respect given to the grieving father Yavani Lopez or his family.

Editor's Note: Most Americans admit that their medical system, as the media politely put it, is "broken", and this has been going on for ages. Yet nothing real ever gets done, only flim-flam, like Obamacare, a Republican package turned into a worse Rube Goldberg nightmare full of patches, and sold by the Democrats as a big improvement over the neoliberal scam long in place. What is also remarkable is that none of these things ever seem to dent the jingoist "exceptionalist" creed that most Americans embrace, thinking their nation the best in the world, hands down. At least by the number of poor immigrants wanting to move to the USA.

It's notable that Russia has on average almost twice as many physicians per thousand population as the US, Cuba almost 3 times, while healthcare is also far more widely accessible to all. ACCESS TO UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE AROUND THE WORLD  The US and UK lag behind in hospital beds per 1,000 people. The fiercest believers in neoliberal capitalism show the poisoned fruits of this creed. Loads of countries ahead, including Russia, Japan, So Korea, Germany, France and even Poland. Even though many of these countries are also capitalist, for a variety of historical and cultural reasons, they have managed to control the beast far better than the anglo-americans.
