The Guardian (UK) once upon a time a good example of credible establishment journalism, has for many years now become simply one more appendage to the US disinformation machine, often leading in its support of Washington's imperialist moves. A case in point is not just the Guardian's abominable handling of Russiagate, wherein the British publication frequently exceeded the US press' level of bloodthirsty chicanery, but the paper's treatment of Julian Assange, repugnantly shabby by any conceivable standard. That said, for reasons that probably apply to the corporate media as a whole, specifically their need to burnish their depleted credentials from time to time, it occasionally publishes reports that are useful and timely, even superior to those of its peers. This is one of them.
