No need to go to China to see their social credit system at work. Here in New York, one sees how gentle they are with their elderly in what is derisively called “Chinatown” (i.e., full of Chinamen). They sit together in the small enclave called Columbus Park near the grim city courts buildings, chatting and guarding their grandchildren and conversing in low tones like the civilized people they are. Or how hard they work and in restaurants prepare by hand the filled buns and dim sum and smiling when they catch your eye. It is an entirely un-warlike population, dedicated to family and graceful living. I cannot vouch for their inner life, but it is there, unlike their lost in materialism Western brethren.
