Despite all the talk of “securing the border,” “building a wall,” “ and other approaches to dealing with the immigration crisis, there’s virtually no public debate about addressing the root causes driving desperate migrants from Latin America and the Caribbean to give up everything they have to risk crossing over into the United States. And the biggest root cause of all is American imperialism, and the U.S. foreign policies that routinely destroy already poor nations economically that lead to mass exoduses.
