Dorothy Lennon: Watch Tulsi Gabbard and offer support only when she merits it.

EDITOR'S NOTE —Unforgiving purists always forget that people evolve. And that that's good. Robert F. Kennedy’s early career included working as a Senate staff member for the right-wing demagogue Sen. Joseph McCarthy.  There he hung out with contemptible vermin like Roy Cohn. It would have been reasonable to conclude that as a young conservative, he could only move farther right as he aged. But he didn't. Martin Luther King spent most of his life as a reformist, chiefly if not exclusivey concerned with civil rights. BUT, in his final years he was moving into clearly radical waters, denouncing US foreign policy as a major crime that also viciously deformed national priorities. His denunciations began to contain a disquieting (to the ruling class) undertone of class analysis. That probably cost him his life. Those are just two examples, there are many more.

So, sure, Tulsi Gabbard is not perfect. Within the ridiculously narrow Overton window that the US politics allows, she has certainly made some pretty bad choices. She endorsed Biden instead of Sanders, for example. But, think about it. Both stink, ust diferen styles of conning the masses, with Sanders the more cynical and successful. She was probably trying to keep the franchise to move on to larger and better things, when the moment advised it. The US political duopoly is a mafia. There's no trying to show too much honor and principle at the start of your journey. They'll stop you, make you an "unperson". Or worse. And, yes, she also appeared in a widely disseminated photo embracing the contemptible Meghan McCain, daughter of war criminal and obsessive warmonger in chief and Ukraine meddler John McCain, one of those false heroes America loves to idolise. So when Tulsi left the Democrat party, she caught the expected hell from all those purist voices that populate Western social media. Am I willing to forgive her trespasses. or, put differently, can I trust her? The question is premature and even almost rhetorical. With only phonies and outright criminals throughout the entire US political class, playing a waiting game with Tulsi will mean no harm to anyone supposedly better qualified or to the country's political options. But, not castigating Tulsi prematurely, has its advantages. As long as some national media give her a platform, even if it is Fox News, she has a chance of stirring the long-complacent and certainly rarely challenged manure that defines the current imperial establishment. Obviously, Tulsi should NOT sign up with the duopoly's "other wing", the equally vile Republicans, whose ONLY grace over the infinitely disgusting Democrats is their brutal frankness in announcing to all comers who they really serve (not the ordinary citizens, that's for sure). With the GOP rascals at least you get to see who your enemy. With the terminaly hypocristical Dems, most people are simply fooled, again and again, and that HAS to stop. There's no lesser evil in imperialist politics. That's a delusion. Bank on it. Now do read what Dorothy Lennon has to say. She makes sense.—PG
