This act of theater by the sanctimonious Democrats set a new record for the duopoly's capacity to play any card, no matter how revolting, to remain in power, while abjectly doing the bidding of their masters, the world's oligarchs. This is performative politics, symbolism devoid of substance, virtue signaling elevated to an art form.

This happened in June of 2020.

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democratic members of Congress kneeled in silence for eight minutes and 46 seconds on the marble floor of Emancipation Hall in the U.S. Capitol on Monday, the duration that Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on the neck of George Floyd as he died. U.S. Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer said the duration was an excruciating, unbearable amount of time and the tribute was necessary to acknowledge the pain and suffering of Black Americans. Before kneeling, Pelosi read out a list of names of other Black Americans who died at the hands of police officers.
