The history of filthy anticommunism in the USA, as eloquent as you can find it. And keep in mind that Woodrow Wilson, yea, the revered Wilson, the Southern racist canonized by official historians as a great statesman and peacemaker (selling us WWI as the “war to end all wars”) was in the thick of it all actively destroying American democracy, instead of safeguarding it.

We have just been informed that our brother Glen Ford, founding editor of Black Agenda Report, has passed. As one who profoundly admired Glen for his extraordinary lucidity and revolutionary integrity, I can only say that I am simply devastated by this terrible news. I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person, but the knowledge he was there, with his equally formidable colleagues at BAR, fighting the good fight with exemplary dedication, served as a constant source of inspiration. Despite being one of America’s leading public intellectuals, he was not a household name, an injustice, no doubt, but his work will surely be remembered and utilised by future generations of true revolutionists for many years to come. Hasta la victoria siempre, Glen!

Deconstructing Michael Harrington, Mr Faux Socialism
26 minutes readThere are now almost 100,000 members of the Democratic Socialists of America. Because of this, the author of a critical biography of its founder is timely. The criticisms of Harrington are overwhelmingly true of the DSA today. Its anti-communism drives it to still support the Democratic Party in spite of the fact the party today is far more right-wing than it was in Harrington’s day. In Harrington’s day supporting Palestine was considered antisemitic. DSA’s support of Palestine today is more the effect of the brutal Israeli policy for decades than an internal change of heart on the part of DSA. —Bruce Lerro, Socialist Planning Beyond Capitalism

China, according to this report, is clearly acting wisely to keep its population from being exposed to constant lies and decadent Western cultural toxicity, the cultural diet consumed by Americans and much of the “West”, with dreadful results. But this is the same reason China judiciously erected a censorship wall to keep US disinformation OUT of China. Thus, while the US-led establishment imposes ever stronger doses of conformity and censorship in all media, including the Internet, China seems to be doing the same, but there’s a huge difference: In the US the censorship bans the truth for the sake of its puny but all powerful criminal capitalist oligarchy, it privileges lies to bolster a sick and criminal system. In China, they do the opposite: they keep the sickening LIES from circulating freely. As this report suggests, Russia —mainly for historico-cultural reasons —may be doing something similar to Cina, which is certainly good for Russia.
