DAVID PARSLEY—Mr Trump’s favourite newspaper, the New York Post, also owned by Mr Murdoch, dismissed the President’s latest unsubstantiated allegations with the headline: “Downcast Trump makes baseless election fraud claims.” None of this means that Mr Murdoch supports Joe Biden. He had instead dropped his support for Donald Trump. The Australian-born media proprietor cannot stomach backing a loser. He knows when to switch horses: he needs his news organisations to have access to whoever holds power. A gentle but obvious shift in Fox News coverage during the campaign will not have gone unnoticed in Biden circles any less than it has frustrated Trump.

Jimmy Dore comments on Colbert’s fake tears over “Trump’s hurtful words”. How repugnantly cloying can pampered, multimillionaire liberals get?

No Matter the Liberal Metric Chosen, the Bush/Cheney Administration Was Far Worse Than Trump.
37 minutes readGLENN GREENWALD—Talk about lawlessness and authoritarianism. As I wrote in The Washington Post shortly before Trump was inaugurated, the Bush and Obama administrations “detained terrorism suspects without due process, proposed new frameworks to keep them locked up without trial, targeted thousands of individuals (including a U.S. citizen) for execution by drone, invoked secrecy doctrines to shield torture and eavesdropping programs from judicial review, and covertly expanded the nation’s mass electronic surveillance.” Indeed, Trump was able to campaign on, and then implement, escalated bombing campaigns that killed large numbers of civilians because the bipartisan framework had been laid over the prior two presidencies that empowered that.

JONATHAN COOK—Biden isn’t over the finishing line quite yet, and there are likely to be recounts, court challenges and possibly violence over the result, but he seems all but certain to be crowned the next U.S. president. Not that that should provoke any kind of celebration. The rest of the world’s population, future generations, the planet itself – none of us had a vote – were always going to be the losers whichever candidate won. The incumbent, Donald Trump, miscalculated, it seems, if he thought dismissing his opponent as “Sleepy Joe” would be enough to damage Biden’s electoral fortunes. True, Trump was referring to the fact that Biden is a dried-out husk of the machine politician he once was. But after four years of Trump and in the midst of a pandemic, the idea of sleeping through the next presidential term probably sounded pretty appealing to liberals. Most of them have spent their whole political lives asleep.

Banana Follies: The Mother of All Color Revolutions
14 minutes readPEPE ESCOBAR—Blue also games that Red would immediately embark on a single-minded path ahead: regiment an army of lawyers demanding access to every registration roll to scrub, review and verify each and every mail-in ballot, a process of de facto forensic analysis. Yet Blue cannot foresee how many fake ballots will be unveiled during recounts. As Corpse is set to declare victory, Buffoon eyes the long game, set to take the whole thing all the way to the Supreme Court. The Red machine had already gamed it – as it was fully aware of how operation Blue would be played. The Red counter-revolution does carry the potential of strategically checkmating Blue.
