The systematic and brutal destruction of Middle Eastern societies as a result of Washington’s meddling offers by now a truly Dantesque image, as can be appreciated in this shot of a street filled with Syrian refugees amid the rubble of war.

Thus, the wet dream of the Obomba administration, including the neocons in the State Department (the Kaganate of Nulands) and “advisors” like Z-Big Brzezenski, was to draw Russia into overt military intervention in the Ukrainian civil war.  Wisely, the Russian government, led by Vladimir Putin refused to take that bait.  Meanwhile, as many of our readers know, with help from friends from all over the world, including Russia, Novorossiya now has a very competent, well-equipped and highly motivated military with which to defend itself from the predations of the Ukrop Nazis.  Additional battles are likely, but I suspect that the end result, in the not too distant future, will be a “frozen conflict” like South Ossetia-Georgia.  And the Novorossiyans will likely have done it without overt Russian military involvement (allowing Russia to continue to strengthen and act elsewhere, if necessary).

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n the months since the U.S.-engineered coup in Kiev, the western mainstream media has demonized Russia and Putin, with Orwellian disregard for the facts.  However, matching the frequent false accusations of Russian tanks and troops invading Novorossiya has been the frequent hysterics of Chicken Littles predicting the imminent collapse of the sky because the Russians WERE NOT overtly intervening militarily, demonizing Putin as a coward and traitor for not doing so.  The brigade of the Chicken Littles has been led by several, including Vladimir Suchan, a Czech expat academic and US citizen, living in the U.S.  The U.S. would dearly love to tie Russia down in a Ukrainian quagmire, as part of its strategy to weaken, hobble and destabilize Russia, up to and including regime change.  Russia however didn’t swallow the poison bait and has out-maneuvered the west diplomatically and in the propaganda war; today Novorossiya is reasonably secure in terms of defending itself; the economic sanctions and other efforts to harm and destabilize Russia have largely failed or been only marginally effective;  political and economic ties between Russia and the other BRICS countries are proceeding apace; Russians overwhelmingly  support the Putin government; and now, importantly, Russia has the capacity and ability to maintain and if necessary, increase its support for the Assad government of Syria (which the majority of Syrians support), against the Takfiri psychotics and war that the U.S., in concert with collaborators including Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Israel, have brought to Syria, with the goal of Syrian regime change and geopolitical control of the region.

Thus, the U.S. has so far failed to bring the level of destabilization that it desired to Russia’s doorstep in Ukraine and into Russia itself.

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hich brings me to the refugee crisis in Europe.  Europe has variably collaborated with the U.S. in the imperialistic wars which have caused this African/Middle Eastern refugee crisis (and the one in Ukraine). Thus, U.S. AND Europe must share responsibility as the ROOT cause of the crises. Look at the maps here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_military_intervention_in_Libya

Note the European countries that collaborated with the U.S. in destroying Libya (including France as a major participant) — Libya, the country which formerly had the highest human development index in Africa. Then the refugees began pouring out of the hell-hole that the U.S. and E.U. created, and thousands of bodies began piling up at the bottom of the Mediterranean, exacerbated by a pathetically insufficient and ineffective European response.  Now, with a huge crush of refugees from Syria, and after Hungary’s shameful punitive response, Germany has indicated a willingness to admit hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees.

For many the Mediterranean is an almost insurmountable obstacle.

[dropcap]G[/dropcap]ermany’s ultimate agenda and policies remain to be seen, and I am skeptical.  Perhaps Germany is looking at the prospect of tens of thousands of new industrial workers to bolster its sagging demographics.  Will the Syrian refugees that Germany accepts be full-fledged German citizens with all the social benefits, or something less?  Will the lower wages and benefits of second-class industrial workers be used to pressure the wages and benefits of Germany’s current and future workers?  How will Syrian refugees really be treated (and for how long)?

horiz-long grey[dropcap]A[/dropcap]nd what about the refugee crisis that none of the mainstream media presstitutes are talking about — the one in southeast Ukraine, for which the U.S. and Europe also share responsibility as a root (the legal term: proximate) cause. Europe has collaborated with the U.S. in support of the fascist coup regime in Kiev and its attacks on civilians in Donbass with heavy weapons, and promoting all of the associated Orwellian MSM lies, dissembling and propaganda. And in stark contrast with the European response to its refugee crisis, consider the Russian response to the refugee crisis in Ukraine. Russia has absorbed hundreds of thousands of refugees from Donbass, upwards of a million — people who have been grievously injured by the U.S. and European-supported war against them. Russia has done this without fanfare and without coercion, in an incredibly efficient and humane and generous and MORAL fashion. (By no means the first time that Russia has behaved in a moral fashion in comparison with the West.) But, instead of eliciting praise from the U.S. and Europe for this (and its dominant role in ridding Europe from the scourge of Naziism), Russia is demonized and subject to sanctions designed to harm it economically (which have largely backfired). This puts Europe’s response to its refugee crisis, a crisis in which it had a large hand in creating, to shame.

refugees--welcome to greece_0So, the claim that the American Empire is “appallingly incompetent” because it produces chaos and destabilization is incorrect.  On the contrary, it is very competent — in an evil way. The liberal fascist scum (which includes the neocons) don’t consider the chaos and destabilization they engineered in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Ukraine, Syria, etc. to be a fail, they consider it a victory.  If Americans fail to be hailed as liberators and the resulting immiseration, death, morbidity and destabilization don’t match the run-up “R2P” and “bringing freedom/democracy” propaganda, the plutocrats and their political and media puppets don’t care — no matter what the outcome is, there is no accountability imposed by the public afterwards.  They neuter criticism with rationalizations like, “ok, ok, we didn’t find any weapons of mass destruction, but we got rid of that vicious dictator, didn’t we?”   The plutocracy is not harmed and remains functional and intact.  The same political puppets recycle from one presidential administration to the next (consider all the Bushites that Obomba hired).  Americans soon forget and return to their culture wars at home.  The geopolitical ignorance of Americans is profound to begin with — I doubt if most Americans could find Ukraine or Iraq or Syria or Libya on a map.   They soon return to being led by the nose by carnies like Donald Trump who divert their angst to such populist favorites such as nativistic demonization of Mexicans and lazy/shiftless minorities stealing their tax dollars.  Americans are just happy to get back to their jobs in the booming military-industrial complex, from sea to shining sea.  No, the only fail for the deep state plutocracy is when they fail to produce the desired magnitude of destabilization to their targets overseas.

The refugee crisis in Europe is bringing all sorts of unsavory creatures out of the woodwork.  On the one hand, the imperialists are (predictably) trying to exploit it to justify more war-mongering — trying to project the blame for the Syrian component of the crisis onto Bashar Assad, with the Orwellian claim that Syrians are fleeing Assad, not the war that the U.S. has brought to Syria, via its support for Takfiri terrorists and increasingly, by direct military involvement.

A roundup of African refugees.

A roundup of African refugees.

Will European governments resist this — both the propaganda and the call to participate in direct military action in Syria, with the obvious goal being deposing the Assad regime?  Will countries like France get directly involved militarily, alongside the U.S. in the Assad regime change project?  France certainly got deeply involved in the Libyan debacle. [dropcap]O[/dropcap]n the other hand, the nativists, nationalists and racists are emerging, in all their varied colors and spectrum of beliefs and ideologies.  Demonstrating an advanced capacity for conspiratorial ideation, one claims that the refugee crisis was engineered specifically to inject Muslims into Europe in order “to destroy the social fabric of Europe and Euro-America” (reminding me of General Ripper in Dr. Strangelove obsessing about his precious bodily fluids).  This American says, “This is a prime part of their agenda to destroy the social fabric of Europe and Euro-America by inserting into these places a very quickly reproducing virus, in the form of the non-European Muslim immigrant, that is extremely difficult to remove without very bloody surgery.”

refugees-European-Day-of-Action-for-Refugees1-720x720Others claim that the Syrians aren’t really refugees but rather “economic migrants”.  The people making this claim should volunteer for six months or so in the very large refugee camps for Syrians in Lebanon and Turkey to see first hand the very difficult conditions in these places.  While they are there helping out, they can review the battle maps documenting the actions of the Syrian Arab Army, the Takfiri terrorists and the U.S., Turkish, Israeli and other militaries.  Visit the ruined cities and infrastructure.  In order to get some idea of how these people get to the refugee camps and why they try to escape to Europe.  Oh yes, and while they are there, they can check the JOB BOARDS in the camps to see what kind of employment opportunities are available there.  Yes, the refugees fleeing this nightmare might naturally want to work in Europe and be productive and provide for their families.  Then there is the guy who posts a picture of a few hundred male Syrians waiting on the platform of a European train station — the claim being that the refugees are heavily weighted to young males, and the implication being:  likely Takfiri terrorists.

[Dropcap]F[/dropcap]irst, even the clips on Fox news (on constantly in the doctors dining room) show an expected mix of men, women and children. Second, some Takfiris probably will get through.  But, heads up you Europeans and “Euro-Americans” worried about your precious bodily fluids:  “As ye sow, so shall ye reap.”  Don’t blame the victims for the crimes of YOUR governments.  Governments in countries in which you hold citizenship and which are the root cause of these crises.  So, don’t blame the victims, take responsibility and blame yourselves.  And one more thing, Russians have learned to get along with their large non-Takfiri Muslim populations.  Maybe the Europeans and “Euro-Americans” advocating their (dysfunctional) nationalism and nativism and variably overt racism could learn something about the healthy nationalism and respect for other cultures that that very large and diverse country, Russia, has managed to develop.

When the Takfiri terrorists that do slip through into Europe, along with the mass of innocent refugees, commit some heinous crime, how will Europeans treat the remaining, innocent Muslim refugees?

Vladimir Putin’s Foreign-Policy Objectives, & His Desire for U.S. to Be an Ally

horiz grey line

 putin-conferenceTable-photolenta_big_photo-2
[dropcap]O[/dropcap]n September 4th, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin restated, as he has many times before, that he seeks a U.S.-Russian alliance to overcome the global Islamic jihad movement, in Syria, Iraq, and everywhere.

Then, on Tuesday September 8th, Yahoo News bannered, “Austria joins growing voices that say Assad must be part of Syrian solution,” and reported that Austria’s Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz said: “In my opinion the priority is the fight against terror. This will not be possible without powers such as Russia and Iran.” German Economic News noted then that, “Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo had already called on Monday for negotiations with Assad to end the war.”

Eric Zuesse, crosspost with strategic-culture.org (first iteration).

However, the U.S. government is strongly opposed to accepting Putin’s offer of an alliance to overcome Islamic jihad.

Putin’s foreign-policy objectives are consistent; and his latest turn fits with all that has preceded, which has been his single-minded focus, ever since he first became Russia’s leader in 2000: to defeat the global threat of Islamic jihad, which has been the chief military concern for Russia itself, ever since the First Chechen War, during 1994-96, radicalized the predominantly Sunni (Saudi-based) Muslim Chechen Republic, to separate themselves from the predominantly Orthodox Catholic Russia. By the time of Putin’s contest for the Presidency in 2000, Putin’s hard line against religious separatism became a leading factor in his electoral victory.
putin-2On 11 February 2004, this is how the pro-Western Moscow Times, which wikipedia refers to as “the first Western daily to be published in Russia,” described “Putin and the Chechen War: Together Forever”:

, Putin launched an “anti-terrorist operation” in Chechnya. Suddenly Putin was the No. 1 politician in the country. …

The Chechen fighters were operating on the assumption that the Kremlin would not tolerate substantial losses on the eve of the election. This is why Chechen detachments flouted military logic and remained in Grozny after it was surrounded, continuing to offer fierce resistance.

June 2000 Putin’s support would have evaporated. This concern probably explains Yeltsin’s decision to step down early, bringing the election forward by several months.

I [Alexander Golts] doubt that any Russian politician today would have the nerve to remind Putin of the promises he made back in 2000. He vowed “to crush the terrorist scum’.”
However, Simon Shuster, who likewise is anti-Putin, had this to say about Chechnya, in the cover story of TIME, eleven years later, on 22 June 2015:

Chechnya has undergone a striking transformation. Its cities have been rebuilt with money from Moscow. All traces of its separatist rebellion have been suppressed. And most importantly, a new generation has been raised to respect—at times even to worship—the Russian leader and his local proxies. With no clear memories of the wars for independence, the young people of Chechnya are now the best guarantee that Russia’s hold over the region will persist.
 .
Putin might not have “crushed the terrorist scum,” but he has held it at bay for long enough a time to reestablish relative peace in Chechnya, along with a previously unparallelled degree of prosperity.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he International Crisis Group, a pro-Western and anti-Russian NGO, and an affiliate of NATO’s Atlantic Council, vigorously criticizes the authoritarianism and cult of personality that Putin has imposed in Chechnya, even while reluctantly acknowledging that:
The number of Chechens in the insurgency has been steadily decreasing. With their centuries-long record of being ready to die for their independence, Chechens do not seem very susceptible to the suicidal ideology of a global jihad. Many who are have joined the conflict in Syria, which has significantly drained the human resources of the North Caucasus insurgency overall, but especially in Chechnya. A Chechen interior ministry source estimated in 2013 that 200-500 Chechens were fighting in Syria.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Islamic jihadists are more comfortable in, and more accepted by the residents of, the anti-Assad, pro-Sunni, areas of Syria, doing war against Shiia Muslims, and against the Russian-supported secular Shiia President Assad, than they are back home in their native land (Chechnya in Russia). Even Putin’s enemies acknowledge Putin’s successes against the Saudi-based Sunni international Islamic jihad movement. Putin has become an experienced specialist in the war against Islamic terrorism.

Whereas the United States simply spreads Islamic jihad, even while bombing jihadists and creating more martyrs for “the cause” of jihad, Russia has found ways instead to push back effectively against the Saudi-originated movement of Islamic jihad, and to develop, during decades, a peaceful regional diversity, which can encompass even areas where (as in Chechnya) Islamic or sharia law is imposed, and do this even within a predominantly Christian-majority nation (such as Russia, but this also describes the United States).

“The United States opposes Islamic jihad (a monster largely of its own invention), but it opposes Russia more…”horiz grey line

The U.S. never had to deal with the challenge that Russia has, of containing within itself a majority-Muslim state, and especially not containing a state whose majority are Sunni Muslim, the variant of Islam that (unlike Shiia Islam) produces jihadists, people with suicide-belts etc., who seek to impose a global Caliphate, a worldwide regime that imposes strict Islamic law.
The ICG report on Chechnya criticizes today’s Chechnya, by saying that, “Much of the population lives off pensions and welfare payments,” and that corruption and clan-rule are the norm, but all that’s really new in this is actually the peace, and the pensions: corruption and clan-rule have been the rule in Chechnya for centuries, at the very least.
Simon Shuster’s video at TIME, about today’s Chechnya, opens:
The kids growing up in Chechnya these days are a lot luckier than their parents and their grandparents. At least the youngest ones have only known their homeland to be a peaceful and even quite beautiful place, full of enormous mosques, and skyscrapers, and shopping districts, and fast-food joints.
Shuster then refers to the civil war, but he says, “Today, Chechnya is a very different place,” and he acknowledges that the adults there, who remember the wars, are much happier now, that the jihadists are gone, or dead.

Ramzan_Kadyrov,_2014.jpeg

Kadyrov: Moscow’s man in Chechnya, but more independent than many think.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]l Jazeera television, which is controlled by gas-rich Qatar’s anti-Russian Sunni royal family, the Thanis, has criticized Putin for his placing in control of Chechnya the anti-jihadist Chechen Muslim, Ramzan Kadyrov. Thanis are also the chief financial backers for the Muslim Brotherhood, and, along with the Saud family (the main financial backers of Al Qaeda), are also among the main financial backers of the Syrian warriors who are fighting to replace the secular Shiite leader, Assad, by a sectarian Sunni Islamic regime in Syria.

The anti-Russian American newspaper, New York Times, headlined on 1 July 2004, “Qatar Court Convicts 2 Russians in Top Chechen’s Death,” and reported:
In U.S.-allied nations generally, anti-Russian jihadists have, to a large extent, been sympathetically received, and favorably reported (as in that cited NYT article).
So: Regardless of Putin’s success at dealing with Islamic jihadists, his invitation to the United States to work together to defeat the Sunni, and mainly Saudi and Thani-funded, international movement for Islamic jihad for a global Caliphate, will probably continue to meet only America’s cold shoulder. The United States opposes Islamic jihad, but it opposes Russia more.
Or, at least, the U.S. Government does. Obama primarily seeks to defeat Russia, not to ally with it — not even against Islamic jihad. And here’s how serious he is about that goal: In order to be able to install a NATO base on Russia’s doorstep in Russia’s neighbor Ukraine, the U.S. on 4 February 2014 selected a new leader for Ukraine, and installed that new leader in a coup three weeks later. This new government was/is rabidly anti-Russian. The U.S. and Russia have, accordingly, reactivated their nuclear-weapons arsenals, for a possible direct war, no longer merely conflicts via proxies. However, Putin still is inviting Obama to switch from being obsessed with defeating Russia, to becoming allied with Russia. He’s, in effect, saying to Obama: “Okay, if NATO is to continue, then let us into it, and let us all agree, together, that the enemy to peace and international progress is the Islamic jihadist movement, and all of the aristocrats who fund it.”
[dropcap]H[/dropcap]owever, Putin probably holds little hope of a favorable response to this. As the great investigative historian William F. Engdahl wrote, on 15 May 2015 at journal-neo.org:
Not long after the CIA and Saudi Intelligence-financed Mujahideen had devastated Afghanistan at the end of the 1980’s, forcing the exit of the Soviet Army in 1989, and the dissolution of the Soviet Union itself some months later, the CIA began to look at possible places in the collapsing Soviet Union where their trained “Afghan Arabs” could be redeployed to further destabilize Russian influence over the post-Soviet Eurasian space.

They were called Afghan Arabs because they had been recruited from ultraconservative Wahhabite Sunni Muslims from Saudi Arabia, the Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and elsewhere in the Arab world where the ultra-strict Wahhabite Islam was practiced. They were brought to Afghanistan in the early 1980’s by a Saudi CIA recruit who had been sent to Afghanistan named Osama bin Laden.

With the former Soviet Union in total chaos and disarray, George H.W. Bush’s Administration decided to “kick ‘em when they’re down,” a sad error. Washington redeployed their Afghan veteran terrorists to bring chaos and destabilize all of Central Asia, even into the Russian Federation itself, then in a deep and traumatic crisis during the economic collapse of the Yeltsin era.

In the early 1990s, Dick Cheney’s company, Halliburton, had surveyed the offshore oil potentials of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and the entire Caspian Sea Basin. They estimated the region to be “another Saudi Arabia” worth several trillion dollars on today’s market. The US and UK were determined to keep that oil bonanza from Russian control by all means.
Engdahl also included this:

Bin Laden brought in another Saudi, Ibn al-Khattab, to become Commander, or Emir of Jihadist Mujahideen in Chechnya (sic!) together with Chechen warlord Shamil Basayev. No matter that Ibn al-Khattab was a Saudi Arab who spoke barely a word of Chechen, let alone, Russian. He knew what Russian soldiers looked like and how to kill them.

Chechnya then was traditionally a predominantly Sufi society, a mild apolitical branch of Islam. Yet the increasing infiltration of the well-financed and well-trained US-sponsored Mujahideen terrorists preaching Jihad or Holy War against Russians transformed the initially reformist Chechen resistance movement. They spread al-Qaeda’s hardline Islamist ideology across the Caucasus. Under [Richard] Secord’s guidance, Mujahideen terrorist operations had also quickly extended into neighboring Dagestan and Chechnya, turning Baku into a shipping point for Afghan heroin to the Chechen mafia.

From the mid-1990s, bin Laden paid Chechen guerrilla leaders Shamil Basayev and Omar ibn al-Khattab the handsome sum of several million dollars per month, a King’s fortune in economically desolate Chechnya in the 1990s, enabling them to sideline the moderate Chechen majority.21 US intelligence remained deeply involved in the Chechen conflict until the end of the 1990s. According to Yossef Bodansky, then Director of the US Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, Washington was actively involved in “yet another anti-Russian jihad, seeking to support and empower the most virulent anti-Western Islamist forces.” …

Basayev and al-Khattab imported fighters from the Saudi fanatical Wahhabite strain of Sunni Islam into Chechnya. Ibn al-Khattab commanded what were called the “Arab Mujahideen in Chechnya,” his own private army of Arabs, Turks, and other foreign fighters. He was also commissioned to set up paramilitary training camps in the Caucasus Mountains of Chechnya that trained Chechens and Muslims from the North Caucasian Russian republics and from Central Asia.
Enghdahl referred to a 26 April 2015 speech by Putin, which had that history as its background:
A short way into his remarks, the Russian President stated for the first time publicly something that Russian intelligence has known for almost two decades but kept silent until now, most probably in hopes of an era of better normalized Russia-US relations.

Putin stated that the terror in Chechnya and in the Russian Caucasus in the early 1990’s was actively backed by the CIA and western Intelligence services to deliberately weaken Russia. He noted that the Russian FSB foreign intelligence had documentation of the US covert role without giving details.

What Putin, an intelligence professional of the highest order, only hinted at in his remarks, I have documented in detail from non-Russian sources. The report has enormous implications to reveal to the world the long-standing hidden agenda of influential circles in Washington to destroy Russia as a functioning sovereign state, an agenda which includes the neo-nazi coup d’etat in Ukraine and severe financial sanction warfare against Moscow.

Brzezinski

Brzezinski

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]ot all of this has remained as being secret. There have even been some proud public participants in the American aristocracy’s hatred of Russians. For example: the child of dispossessed Polish nobility who emigrated to the United States and who as an adult was brought by the oil-baron heir David Rockefeller into several U.S. Presidential Administrations, Zbigniew Brzezinski (who co-founded with Rockefeller the Trilateral Commission) was quite proud of his anti-Russian hatred. (He had actually been born near Lviv, in the most pro-Nazi and anti-Russian part of present-day Ukraine. A racist hatred of Russians was intense there.) He was interviewed on page 76 of France’s Le Nouvel Observateur, on 15 January 1998, translated by Bill Blum, posted at Global Research by Michel Chossudovsky:

today?
B: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter. We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.
Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic fundamentalism, having given arms and advice to future terrorists?
B: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?
Q: Some stirred-up Moslems? But it has been said and repeated Islamic fundamentalism represents a world menace today.
B: Nonsense!

There is even a video-clip, “Brzezinski And The Mujahideen 1979,” which shows Brzezinski in 1979, arriving in Afghanistan and telling the Mujahideen (soon to be called the Taliban), “Your cause is right, and god is on your side.”
In other words: the U.S. aristocracy wants to grab Russia’s natural resources; and the fact that Russia is no longer part of any international communist alliance, the fact that the Cold War is over, is not going to end the war by America’s aristocracy for control of Russia and its resources. All that the end of communism does for America’s aristocrats is remove what had been their excuse for revving up Joseph R. McCarthy, etc., to stir hatred of what had for decades been Russians’ ideology. All that’s left now is the American aristocracy’s own greed, and psychopathy. But Putin still is publicly inviting those people to join with Russia in a global alliance, perhaps an entirely new NATO, to crush the Islamic jihad movement.
The public should know about the invitation, and should know why it has always been (and is being) rejected.

Criminalize Political Lies or Civilization Dies

Screen Shot 2015-08-22 at 7.41.15 PM

The first lie is that America is a democracy, instead of a plutocracy strutting about in the garb of democracy.

The Presidential Club: A shameful legacy, and getting worse all the time.

The Presidential Club: A shameful legacy, and getting worse all the time.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he vast social injustice rife throughout the world is reaching a tipping point. The people of planet earth are mad as hell and they’re not going to take it anymore. The ecological devastation and immense human suffering caused by collaborating, corrupt governments around the world is awakening all humanity to a common cause. The time is ripe for a worldwide political revolution.

Here in the U.S., our founding fathers’ sacred idea of a government of the people has become a cruel joke – along with that “goddamned piece of paper” we call our Constitution. Our Supreme Court says our government is legally for sale to the highest bidder. Our so-called “representatives” in Congress shamelessly vie for millions in legal bribes in return for delivering billions of the people’s tax dollars to elite special interests.

As a result, 44 million Americans live in poverty, a record 40 million rely on food stamps, 30 million are unemployed or underemployed, a record 6 million have given up looking for a job, millions have lost their homes to foreclosure by the same banksters bailed out by billions of the people’s tax dollars, and, unlike our privileged “representatives” in Washington, 50 million Americans have no health insurance. The time is ripe for a worldwide political revolution.

Political lies: the lifeblood of our political system

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]hough big money is the driving force of our political system, political lies provide the means to pass unjust legislation. Political lies aren’t benign lies or compassionate lies aimed at easing suffering. Political lies are unambiguously intended to further political ends with blatant disregard for their harmful consequences and with little or no accounting by our lying politicians.

trump-atPodium

Trump’s racist and buffoonish performance has not affected his ratings. The public—fed up with the cynical lying permeating the political class—has embraced him solely because he represents candor in politics, a rarity.

Without political lies, the U.S. political system would disintegrate. A system claiming to work for the people, but obviously working for elite special interests, must necessarily be based on carefully crafted lies. The more unjust the legislation, the more carefully crafted the lies must be to pass it. Our political system proudly rewards crafty lying, with the best liars reaping the biggest rewards.

“Criminalize political lies or civilization dies.”

Political lies aren’t limited to false statements. There are political lies of omission when politicians purposely ignore facts that undermine their positions. Evasion is probably the most common political lie. Our politicians are free to spout vague, specious nonsense while carefully evading clearly explaining and justifying their positions.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] lie is a betrayal of trust. Our personal lies might betray a spouse or a few friends, but the harm is usually quite limited. But when government representatives lie, for example to justify war, the betrayal could easily extend to all of humanity and even to the earth itself with severe, possibly irreversible, negative ramifications.

Political lies kill big time. Political lies plunder. Political lies cause countless forms of extreme human suffering. Political lies are used to excuse the most heinous behavior. This class of lying, the very lifeblood of the U.S. political system, is clearly criminal by any just definition of the term. Yet this moral abomination continues, not only unpunished, but handsomely rewarded.

Criminalize political lies: a revolutionary idea for a political revolution

[dropcap]C[/dropcap]riminalizing lies is not new or revolutionary. It’s a serious crime to lie about fire in a crowded theatre. It’s a serious crime to lie to our government (see Section 1001 of Title 18 of the United States Code). What would be new and revolutionary is criminalizing government lies. It’s illegal to lie to our government; incredibly it’s even illegal to expose government lies (see Drake, Manning, Snowden). Yet our government can legally lie to us with impunity. It’s way past time to criminalize political lies.

For this revolutionary idea to work, we need a simple, voluntary, reliable way to distinguish lying politicians from non-lying politicians. Enter the power of the Internet. Imagine you could go to a website and find any pending legislative bill or issue accompanied by pro and con arguments that are dynamic (can be updated at any time like Wikipedia articles). These pro and con arguments would be maintained by politicians supporting the two positions.

Political lies in any argument would be easily recognized by non-lying politicians. Any false statement, omission, or evasion could be immediately exposed on the website for the world to see by simply updating the opposing dynamic argument. Arguments would evolve toward the truth while exposing political lies along the way. Lying politicians could no longer shrink from inquiry. (For more details, see: An Elegantly Simple Way to Revolutionize Government ).   [hyperlink: http://www.truth-out.org/opinion/item/21646-an-elegantly-simple-way-to-revolutionize-government].

Conclusion

[dropcap]P[/dropcap]lanet earth and all but a tiny fraction of her inhabitants are being systematically raped and plundered by a corporate power structure that virtually owns the U.S. government. If there’s an activity that can make money by destroying our planet or killing our fellow human beings, you can bet the U.S. government is actively promoting that activity. This huge, continuing crime against humanity (and nature) is being justified and sustained with big, fat, legal political lies.

Unless we the people unite in a worldwide political revolution, one that no longer tolerates lies from government representatives, we’ll get more inequality, we’ll get more destruction of our natural resources, we’ll get more wars, and we’ll get even more extreme human suffering that will progress until the downtrodden of the world violently revolt in desperation.

Criminalize political lies or civilization dies.

All US presidents have been involved in some act of aggression that could be easily condemned as a Nuremberg War Crime. And they have all lied. But never so criminally and so cynically as the occupants of the White House since Ronald Reagan.

Rebooting Hillary

hillary_clinton[dropcap]P[/dropcap]olls show increasing numbers of voters dislike and distrust her. She’s losing ground to Sanders and bested by Donald Trump.

Voters rate her poorly on honesty, trustworthiness and transparency. When asked to describe her, “liar” is the word most often mentioned – then “dishonest,” untrustworthy,” and “criminal.”

She can’t convince people she’s not hiding something. Her sordid past perhaps caught up with her. Polls show Joe Biden is most favored against Republicans – maybe enough to convince him to declare his candidacy.

Clinton campaign aides say she’s rebooting, aiming to reinvent herself as kinder, gentler. She’ll find it hard to erase her sordid past or change her image in voter minds once fixed.

In a field of deplorable presidential aspirants without a worthy one in the bunch, she stands out as especially loathsome and dangerous – a war goddess most likely to confront Russia and perhaps China belligerently, a prescription for WW III. Smiles and feigned affability can’t disguise pure evil.

The New York Times explained her new campaign strategy headlining “Hillary Clinton to Show More Humor and Heart, Aides Say.”

From now on she’ll refrain from “flip jokes about her private email server (and) rope lines to wall off crowds…And there will be new efforts to bring spontaneity to a candidacy that sometimes seems wooden and overly cautious,” said The Times.

A record of being on the right side of major issues and character matter most. Clinton fails on both counts – a shameless self-promoter, an unabashedly hawkish supporter of endless wars, fundamentally against world peace and stability, a nuclear weapons use proponent.

Her earlier attempts to fake a softer side fell flat. Her demeanor shows she’s not genuine. Her record as US senator and secretary of state belies her disingenuous claim about “want(ing) to be the president who addresses the problems in the headlines and the ones that keep you up at night.”

Her agenda is polar opposite her duplicitous rhetoric. Democrat pollster Anna Greenberg was right calling her an “establishment candidate,” without explaining she supports dirty business as usual – in her case much dirtier.

Last April, Politico headlined “Hillary is new and improved! Take as directed,” saying she “invented herself almost as many times as Edison tried to invent the light bulb.”

If she stood for what matters most for most people, reinvention wouldn’t be an issue. Portraying herself as a populist champion is polar opposite her real persona and agenda.

On September 8, the Wall Street Journal picked up on the Politico theme headlining “Hillary, New and Improved,” saying:

She’ll try shedding her “scriptedness.” Political campaigning is choreographed kabuki theater – candidates pretending to be something they’re not, illusion papering over ugly reality.

For eight years as first lady, she partnered in husband Bill’s crimes. She shamelessly self-promoted throughout her Washington years and since leaving government.

Her public service record as senator and secretary of state was scandalous – militantly pro-war, contemptuous of rule of law principles, scornful of democracy, backer of Israel’s worst crimes, anti-populist while pretending to be otherwise, dismissive of human suffering, and supporter of police state legislation.

Political campaigning is choreographed kabuki theater – candidates pretending to be something they’re not, illusion papering over ugly reality.

She represents the worst of America’s dark side, a monument to wrong over right, militantly anti-Russian, a major threat to world peace.

She stands for everything activists for peace, equity and justice oppose. It’s hard imagining a worse choice for president – or any other public service office.
