SCOTT RITTER—Western governments, analysts, and pundits have loudly proclaimed that the men who carried out the attack on the Crocus City Hall had nothing whatsoever to do with Ukraine, and instead have collectively embraced a narrative that paints the men as members of the Islamic State-Khorasan (ISIS-K). ISIS is an off-shoot of Al-Qaeda-Iraq (AQI) which emerged in 2013 when core AQI members relocated to Syria. In 2014 ISIS declared itself to be a caliphate and began a series of operations which saw it take control on a third of Syria and a quarter of Iraq before being driven back and ultimately defeated by a coalition which included Iraq, the United States and Iran.

The Empire Doesn’t Hide Its Worst Deeds, It Just Manipulates How People Think About Them
15 minutes readCAITLIN JOHNSTONE—The US-centralized globe-spanning power structure therefore relies heavily on its historically unprecedented ability to psychologically manipulate global populations when carrying out such atrocities. The empire has invested more heavily in soft power than any empire or government in human history, and the science of modern propaganda has been advancing under this investment at least as rapidly as military technology has been.
That’s why you can have the most damning information imaginable about the people who rule over us sitting right out in the open, and you won’t see anywhere remotely close to the public outrage and backlash you ought to see.

RICHARD MEDHURST—Hezbollah is gradually expanding its operations. Its missiles and rockets are beginning to zero in on more targets of importance in Israel, and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, which remains a piece of Syrian territory. The probable upcoming presidency of uber Zionist Donald Trump will NOT fix the situation with the Israelis and may very well aggravate it. Trump and his in-laws, the Kushners, a notorious Zionist-American clan, will likely put US soldiers on the ground to further assist Israel in its battles with the anti-Zionist/imperialist alliance and Hamas itself. How that will play with Trump’s “antiwar” image in many quarters is still anybody’s guess.

EDITOR—Touchy issues of sex, gender, LGBQT politics, direction of the military, etc., are discussed with Gen. Anthony Tata (Ret.). Note that Gen. Tata is apparently deeply disliked by the Deep State. This is reflected in a highly inflammatory and tendentious Wikipedia page, a reliable barometer of what the hidden establishment thinks of public figures. Tata, unfortunately, like many senior members of the US military and countless people of right-wing/conservative persuasion, is unfortunately poisoned by the (unofficial) religion of America, hatred of communism, a doctrine he, like many others in the same tribe, knows practically nothing about, except the caricaturesque indoctrination all Americans receive in schools, media and other opinion-shaping institutions. Thus he, like Trump, et al can call capitalist/imperialists like Obama, “a communist”. Or, believe, like Trump has declared, that Putin would have never invaded Ukraine on his watch out of fear of American retaliation. Which is patently ridiculous, besides showing massive ignorance about the basic realities of international affairs. Fortunately, Jimmy Dore dispenses straightforward correctives to all this nonsense, while schooling the general and the audience about the essential facts.

How Many Gazans Have Already Died? Perhaps 200,000.
16 minutes readEDITOR—It matters greatly whether the aggregate toll so far, and counting, is three, four, five, six times more than the Health Ministry’s undercount. It matters for elevating the urgency for a permanent cease-fire, and direct and massive humanitarian aid by the U.S. and other countries, bypassing the sadistic cruelty against innocent families of the Israeli siege. It matters for the columnists and editorial writers who have been self-censoring themselves, with some, like the Post’s Charles Lane, fictionally claiming that Israel’s military doesn’t “intentionally target civilians.” It matters for accountability under international law.
