PHILIP A. FARRUGGIO—We never belonged in Southeast Asia in the 50s and 60s. We never belonged in the Middle East in the 90s or 2000s… period! When the day comes that many of our friends and neighbors stop drinking the Kool- Aid of this ‘ War on Terror ‘ and realize that they have been bamboozled for generations… we can maintain our strength as a nation by keeping the hell out of what George Washington warned : ‘ Foreign entanglements’. The America that many of us love has never been the ‘ Policeman of the world’ ; rather it has been the ‘ Goon squad ‘ for its corporate masters. Google Major General Smedley Butler’s 1935 essay ‘ War is a Racket ‘ and wake up!

Rachel Blevins, a correspondent for RT America: Today I was locked out of my Facebook account for four hours, and my public page was “unpublished.” There appears to be no explanation for this other than the vague claim from Facebook that my page was taken down because it was “administered by a fake account, misleading users or violating the Facebook spam policies.” I am the only person who publishes posts on my page; the only posts I publish are articles I have written or videos of my reports, and I only post one or two times a day — which rules out all of the claims that I have violated Facebook’s policies. My page had nearly 70,000 followers before it was taken down. I have poured the last four years into building my page as a journalist, and I have noticed recently that the reach seems to have been stifled and that the engagement on my posts was down significantly. I know that I am not the only one who has become a victim of this purge, and there are hundreds of other pages — many of which had millions of followers — that have been taken down with no warning and no explanation.

R S AHTHION—Was the Soviet Union then going to invade the United States whilst it was fully occupied with industrialisation and bringing the living standards of the poorest of the country to a higher standard in the 2nd fastest industrialisation the world has ever seen (the first being China). Were they then going to invade the United States in the 30s whilst the Soviet Union was roiled with internal politics then focused on helping Spain from being steam rolled by fascist Italy and Germany (facilitated by the western powers who feigned neutrality whilst helping the Axis powers). Was the invasion going to happen after World war 2 in which the Soviet Union lost 27 million people, saved the world from nazism and their entire country had been bombed to smithereens? At what point in history was the Soviet Union ever going to affect the United States personally?

GEOFFREY ONEILL—The NATO alliance was formed following WWll, ostensibly to protect east European countries from naked aggression by the Soviet Union. Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty states that an attack against any member nation is an attack against all member nations. Article 5, in its entire history was never invoked until Sept. 11, 2001. It wasn’t a small NATO country that needed help; it was the United States of America, the most powerful country in the world.

Double Standards Dept.—Starving and Bombed Children of Yemen Seek Entrapment in Flooded Thai Cave
19 minutes readR J BURROWES—Well, for a start, we can boycott the corporate media and certainly not spend any money on it. What little truth it contains is usually of even less value (and probably gets barely beyond a good sports report). Instead, invest any money you previously spent on the corporate media by supporting progressive news outlets. They might not have reported events in relation to the Thai cave rescue but they do report on the ongoing violence inflicted on children in more grotesque circumstances such as the war in Yemen. They will also report and analyze important global events from a truthful and life-enhancing perspective and will often offer strategies for your engaged involvement.
