Donald Trump wanted to withdraw US troops at least from Northern Syria, leaving it in the care of Russians and Turks, but James Jeffrey, US Special Representative for Syria and Iraq, long in the service of the “Deep State,” lied to his president, downplaying the number of troops and giving a distorted picture of what was going on in the region. This eventually cost him his job, but Donald Trump did lose his battle with the system while still in office.

Afghanistan War Outcome: Hope for Sovereign Nations Fighting the Scourge of Neocolonial Imperialism
33 minutes readGILBERT MERCIER—As far as military tensions in the region, there are many countries besides Syria where conflicts between Iran-supported groups and US-supported proxies are simmering, or full blown. The US does its work, not only via Israel in the entire region, but also Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in Yemen, and presently Turkey in Syria. Right now conflicts are active in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Palestine, but something could ignite in Lebanon at any time.
Iran views itself as the lead supporter of the resistance movement, not only through its support for regional allies like Hezbollah and Bashar al-Assad, but also beyond the Middle-East, for Maduro in Venezuela.

Max Blumenthal and Jimmy Dore—along with Caleb Maupin, Lee Camp, and Kim Iversen— demolish the pile of fetid lies being disseminated by the imperial media and its multitude of minions and useful idiots to justify their attacks on Cuba. A great quick lesson in the sheer cynicism and sociopathic criminality of a supposedly law-abiding “democratic” government.

JANICE KORTKAMP—Problems abound in Syria. An estimated half a million people have died. Nearly half the population was displaced with millions becoming refugees outside the country. There are huge swaths of horrific destruction of infrastructure. The economy is shattered while corruption, smuggling, and the black market continue to be major issues. Electricity is scarce. The US, Turkey and Israel all are illegally occupying Syrian lands. And the army, the brave and stalwart Syrian Army soldiers with their allies, must keep fighting the remaining terrorist groups, particularly ISIS and al Qaeda.
Syria has won against the combined efforts of the “leaders of the free world” and western regional puppets to conquer it though the costs have been catastrophically and tragically high.
