DAVID GAMBLE—Both James Bradley in The Imperial Cruise and Stephen Kinzer in True Flag document the imperial expansion of the Spanish-American War. But having been established by the slavery of European mercantilism, the wealth accumulation of American capitalism was becoming increasingly hemmed in with the closing of the West at the end of the nineteenth century. However, the Aryan urge for its sense of rightful dominance refused to be limited, and so the American imperial era was born with McKinley and Roosevelt’s reaching beyond the strictures of the Monroe Doctrine, now becoming a global doctrine of “security” and “democracy.”

ERIC ZUESSE—The U.S., in a sense, has adopted not only many ‘former’ Nazis, but the mantle of German Nazism — not as regards Jews, but as regards Russia and world-conquest in general: America is the world’s leading aggressive and imperialist nation. The EU is an important part of that operation and thus now equates Russia with Nazism instead of with having conquered the Nazis. Authentic European democrats will therefore abandon alliances with the imperialistic U.S., and will recognize — and honor the fact — that Russia is an important part of Europe, and was the main source of the victory against Nazism.

Hybrid war on China rolls on with disgraceful fake journalism crafted by marquee brands like Frontline.
15 minutes readPATRICE GREANVILLE—Since the the good old days are here again with Biden, the deep state media is wasting no time to ratchet up its “Chinagate” angle, just in case Biden should forget to go full hawk on Beijing (which is not likely to happen, judging from his record and the pool of war criminals he will be selecting from for his foreign policy cabinet). Observe how in this promo mail, FRONTLINE, which once upon a time came up with some acceptable instances of journalism, is now, in the era of Russiagate, and Trump derangement, another victim of the all-enveloping media degeneracy in the service of an equally degenerate empire. Word for word, this promo is a textbook example of Cold War propaganda at its vilest. The intent to demonize Beijing is clear, yet I’m sure this despicable program will fool millions, as it was designed to do. In the annals of filth, the American propaganda system has no peers when it comes to effective, sanctimonious disinformation, the favorite pose of consummate hypocrites.

No Matter the Liberal Metric Chosen, the Bush/Cheney Administration Was Far Worse Than Trump.
37 minutes readGLENN GREENWALD—Talk about lawlessness and authoritarianism. As I wrote in The Washington Post shortly before Trump was inaugurated, the Bush and Obama administrations “detained terrorism suspects without due process, proposed new frameworks to keep them locked up without trial, targeted thousands of individuals (including a U.S. citizen) for execution by drone, invoked secrecy doctrines to shield torture and eavesdropping programs from judicial review, and covertly expanded the nation’s mass electronic surveillance.” Indeed, Trump was able to campaign on, and then implement, escalated bombing campaigns that killed large numbers of civilians because the bipartisan framework had been laid over the prior two presidencies that empowered that.

TRUMP LOSES! Now What? That question is surely on the minds of many. Other thoughtful responses can be found on this site, but here’s Jimmy Dore’s, which we regard as (always) among the most lucid and refreshing.
