JIMMY DORE—The mainstream US media likes to depict support for Ukraine in its struggle against Russia as universal, implying a united global community pushing back against the aggressive, imperialist-minded Putin. In reality the global south is not on board with this narrative, with the nations of Africa in particular preferring to stay neutral in this war and primarily evincing concern with ending the fighting to ensure that domestic food scarcity doesn’t worsen. But that’s not good enough for the US and Europe, which have begun implicitly threatening African nations with consequences if they don’t fall in line and declare their full-throated support for Ukraine. Jimmy and America’s comedian Kurt Metzger are joined by independent journalist Hermela Aregawi (http://twitter.com/HermelaTV) to discuss the Ukraine War’s role in food scarcity in the Horn of Africa and Democratic war criminal Samantha Power’s recent visit to the region to drum up opposition to Putin and Russia.

Five months into the Special Military Operation – a summary
63 minutes readTHE SAKER—The West, which despises and hates the Ukrainians almost as much as it hates the Russians was delighted to see the hated Ukrainians and the hated Russians killing each other (well, mostly Russians doing the killing). Furthermore, being military incompetent, the leaders of the West apparently believed that supplying weapons, money, instructors, and special forces to the Ukrainians could, if not turn the tide, slow down Russia enough to create fear, uncertainty, and doubts in the Russian public opinion.

What U.S. Hegemony Is, How It Started, and When
20 minutes readERIC ZUESSE—After World War II ended, the U.S. regime slaughtered or assisted in slaughtering, between 1945 and 2007 (and not even counting more recently, such as in Syria and Yemen), “between 20 and 30 million people in wars and conflicts scattered over the world”. (This count also doesn’t include the numbers, such as in Iraq after the 1990 war, which died as a result of U.S.-initiated sanctions against countries that America’s billionaires wanted to bring under their control that weren’t yet under their control.)
There is every indication that the U.S. regime is even planning to ‘win’ a nuclear war against Russia if America’s preparation of a U.S.-led NATO Operation Barbarossa II (successor to Hitler’s plan) against Russia fails to materialize like they hope it will.

Several people who served with the special force unit said that SAS squadrons were competing with each other to get the most kills. Wang cited statistics as saying that between 2003 and 2008, thousands of Iraqi civilians were abused by British soldiers in ways such as detention, beating, humiliation, sexual assaults and even murder.
The US’ track record was even more abhorrent. Over the past 20 years, the US launched more than 90,000 air strikes on countries including Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, claiming as many as 48,000 civilian lives. Farmers harvesting in the fields, children playing on the streets, families fleeing from wars and villagers hiding inside buildings all became US troops’ targets. (This does not include the massive crimes committed in Vietnam, Korea and other parts of Asia, Africa and Latin America).
