P. GREANVILLE—As a well-compensated puppet of the West, V. Zelensky, an actor, and comedian with excellent skills but no principles is the perfect foil to dispense p.r. BS about the realities of Ukraine 24/7. Few people know the sheer dimensions of the Western disinformation machine dedicated to advancing the Ukraine war project. By some estimates, as such things are usually kept secret, no less than 200 pr outfits are engaged in providing mendacity support for the war (in addition to the regular press and DoD internal assets), and this, perforce, must include denials and obfuscations about the true nature of Kiev’s “exemplary democracy”—demonstrably a neonazi dominated regime that has long banned and fascistically persecuted and intimidated the democratic opposition—parties, media and activists—in many cases outright murdering them.

ERIC ZUESSE—Currently, the U.S. has exactly 900 military bases in foreign countries, in addition to the 749 bases inside the U.S. itself. The U.S. Government minimizes and tries to hide this reality from the public. Furthermore, although the U.S. is officially estimated to spend around 36% of the entire world’s military expenditures, the actual figure is around 50% of the world’s military expenditures, and the added approximately 14% is being paid-out through federal U.S. Departments other than the ‘Defense’ Department, so as to make the total U.S. figure appear to be only 36% of the global total.

ERIC ZUESSE—A commonly expressed view by proponents of the predator’s side in international relations is that if its side becomes defeated or fades, then there will be no basic change except the identity of the predator. That viewpoint (everyone’s being psychopathic) might be universally true in the state of nature, but not necessarily in the state of civilization. Both Russia and China have repeatedly condemned, on a moral basis — an anti-imperialistic basis — the predatory perspective in international relations, the win-lose or “zero-sum-game” view, and have — at least verbally — promised that if and when the U.S. becomes defeated or simply fades-out, both Russia and China will move forward ONLY on a win-win (i.e., anti-imperialistic) basis regarding all other nations.

ERIC ZUESSE—Whereas the 9/11 event ‘justified’ America’s emergency rule and its increased weapons-sales, this impetus was waning as an excuse for continuation of the empire; and, so, when Barack Obama came into office in 2009, he promptly re-oriented toward the old Cold War targets, anti-Russia and anti-China planning and policies (his TTIP, TISA, TTP, overthrow-Assad, and overthrow-Yanukovych, etc. — overthrow any nation’s leadership that is at all friendly toward Russia and/or China), and this required him and Joe Biden to force Europe to commit to anti-Russia and anti-China policies; and, so, it required to split the world into a renewed Cold War without any need for an ideological (anti-‘communist’) excuse.

SCOTT RITTER is a former US Marine Corps intelligence officer and author of “SCORPION KING: America’s Suicidal Embrace of Nuclear Weapons from FDR to Trump”, and his most current book, “Disarmament in the Time of Perestroika: Arms Control and the End of the Soviet Union”. He served in the Soviet Union as an inspector implementing the INF Treaty, served in General Schwarzkopf’s staff during the Gulf War, and from 1991 to 1998 served as a chief weapons inspector with the UN in Iraq. He is highly regarded for his expertise in international security, military affairs, Russia, and the Middle East, as well as arms control and nonproliferation. Even more awe-inspiring than this admirable record is the resolve, energy and time Scott has given to bringing sanity and truth to the national conversation, since the US and NATO, with full focused intent and cold calculation, created the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
