CALEB MAUPIN—This is easily one of Caleb Maupin’s bravest, most urgent and most lucid chats. Simply indispensable. Every American looking for explanations and solutions to the rapidly advancing national and global crisis should take a listen. The world is pregnant with desperately needed social change, and the choice is clear: It will be either Fascism or Communism. The former represents, as usual, the preferred, default solution endorsed by the global imperialist ruling elites. Fascism entails massive destruction and death, and the triumph of the Big Lie and possibly the end of freedom in much of the planet. On the other hand, true communism can save the US and the world from such a fate, but the obstacles in its path—starting with the capitalists’ control of mass media and the pervasive toxicity of anticommunist exceptionalism, aggravated by the rise of a huge fake left— are simply colossal.

Why did the Sino-Soviet split occur? A forthright explanation of a world-changing event.
7 minutes readBasically, Soviet Premier N. Kruschev, who also betrayed Stalin (“Khrushchev’s Secret Speech, ‘On the Cult of Personality and Its Consequences,’ Delivered at the Twentieth Party Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union,” February 25, 1956), started this fandango by trying desperately to appease the US bloc via “peaceful coexistence” and the abandonment of support for Third World revolutionaries. This move had been in turn precipitated by decades long acute hostility toward the Soviet Union by the capitalist world, led by the US. The Soviet posture in time detonated an over-reaction in China, which accused the Soviets of being “social imperialists”. Subsequently, Beijing, deepening the split, welcomed Nixon in 1972, marking the start of a sordid period of collaboration with the western imperialists against the SU across the globe.

The Assassination of Fred Hampton: A Short People’s History
33 minutes readFLINT TAYLOR—Fifty-one years ago this past week, Illinois Black Panther leaders Fred Hampton and Mark Clark were slain by the Chicago police in a murderous pre-dawn raid. Over the next five decades the Hampton and Clark families, their lawyers, the Black Panther Party, movement activists, honest reporters and documentary filmmakers, and peoples’ historians have waged a continuous battle to uncover and speak the truth about Fred Hampton, the BPP, and the December 4th raid. These intergenerational and interracial efforts have led to a changing of the historical narrative from a shoot-out between the Panthers and the police, to a “shoot in” where the police fired more than 90 shots to one by the Panthers, then to a murder of Fred Hampton while he slept, drugged, in his bed, and now, to a political assassination orchestrated by the FBI under its notorious COINTEPRO program.

The Stormtroops Of Regime Change And Counter-Revolution
18 minutes readSOUTH FRONT DISPATCH—The West is facing an unprecedented threat to its hegemony, as more agile, innovative, and cohesive non-Western powers are growing by leaps and bounds, to the point of making a transition to a global non-Western hegemony for the first time in history. During the last five centuries, the baton had passed from one European power to the next, and ultimately to the United States. Should the United States falter under the double weight of its global imperial overstretch and domestic oligarchy plundering even its own society, there will not be another Western state there to pick up where it left off. European Union, once touted as a likely successor or possible candidate for US-EU co-hegemony, is showing few signs of consolidating into a federation. Thus America’s decline would in all likelihood lead to the People’s Republic of China becoming the global hegemonic power.

Stephen Colbert has become a certifiable anus-licking corporate-imperial whore, and here’s the proof.
6 minutes readP. GREANVILLE—For those who thought we were being unfair to Steven Colbert, here’s irrefutable proof of his astonishing degeneracy as a public figure with any integrity. Repugnantly unctuous, literally servile, Colbert, the onetime —for a brief moment—ostensibly fearless comedian is now a corporate slime ball of the most glaring kind, and perhaps just as bad, he’s not even funny.
