The war of words continued into 2018, with Haley deriding Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas by declaring his administration “lacks what is needed to achieve peace” in February, the Jerusalem Post reported. Later that month, after a speech before the UN Security Council in which Abbas said the US was “closing the door on a two-state solution” and he called upon UN member states that have not yet recognized Palestine as a state to do so, Abbas notably snubbed the next two speakers, Israel’s UN ambassador, Danny Danon, and Haley, the US ambassador, walking out of the council chamber after his remarks were finished.

FARHANG JAHANPOUR—This obsession with the past and a deliberate decision to bring about a regime change in Iran will have incalculable costs. Let’s not forget that prior to Iraq war, Paul Wolfowitz, one of the authors of that war, predicted that it would be a “cake walk”, that it “would pay for itself”, and that “US forces would be welcomed with roses”. Fifteen years after that disastrous war, American forces are still operating in that country, and the war which has cost trillions of dollars to US taxpayers has killed and wounded millions of innocent Iraqi people, shattered that country and has given rise to a number of vicious terrorist movements.

RON JACOBS—Gina Haspel got the appointment to head the CIA. The idea that that agency should have someone with morals that found fault with torture or covering up said torture is laughable at best. Indeed, I think her actions overseeing torture sessions and (more importantly) destroying the evidence of those sessions are why she ultimately passed muster for the appointment. She proved her soullessness and enslavement to the Empire and its deeds, no matter how reprehensible some may find them.

RENEE PARSONS—The AUMF 2018 would replace AUMF’s 2001 and 2002 which proponents suggest would remove the onerous Constitutional responsibility from a self-proclaimed over-burdened Congress from voting to approve every single separate act of war. While final approval of the AUMF 2018 represents a “Forever Vote,” product of a low vibration consciousness, the ACLU, which should be leading a vigorous national campaign against the proposal, appears absent from the debate.

RAMIN MAZAHERI—We all know what followed the West’s political failures of the 1960s: Baby Boomers have proven to be totally incapable of taking the torch from their “Greatest Generation”. The Clintons, Dubya Bush, Obama and Trump are synonymous with corruption, hypocrisy and stupidity, and both America’s 99% and the rest of the world is unhappily living under their most inglorious reign.
