KJ Noh and Brian Berletic say that our minds are battlefields and the US psyops machinery want to plant their imperialist narratives in our brains and we must fight against such mind pollution.
The first time I saw “the deer hunter” was a long time ago, maybe a TV rerun. My single abiding memory about it was the harrowing russian roulette scene conducted by the sadistic vietcong, who then get their comeuppance from the heroic Robert deniro.
I recently saw the movie again and now realise it was 100% bullshit propaganda in response to the USA’s humiliating defeat by the Vietnamese, so the US had to rewrite history portraying the Vietcong as devils (one Vietcong throws a grenade into a pit of women and children and he is then incinerated by flamethrower by the heroic Robert deniro).
In the end, Robert Deniro loses his appetite for shooting deer because, hey, he is a heroic pacifist.
You wanna know the truth?
1. It was the US that bombed and napalmed countless Vietnamese women and children.
2. There were NEVER any Russian roulette games played on US prisoners by the Vietcong, that plot was entirely taken from a story set in LAS VEGAS which the movie makers then set in Vietnam.

BULLSHIT US PROPAGANDA.

Here is the ESSENTIAL truth from historian James Bradley about Vietnam.

Skip the beginning, listen rom 28 minutes.

Why did Muhammed Ali refuse to be drafted to fight the Vietcong?
In his own words, ” No Vietcong ever called me Nigger“

Why did Trump get excused from the Vietnam draft? Bone spurs on his feet or something like that.

At the end of “deer hunter” the US cast all mournfully sing “God bless America”

Bring on the ipecac.
That movie won heaps of US awards, which is what you would expect from jerk circle award committees of self congratulatory, self victimising imperialist propagandists.

INDEED. I spent countless hours pushing back against its obnoxious chauvinist distortions, plus the usual high-handed insults to the victims: the Vietnamese. The director of that crap was MICHAEL CIMINO, who later went on to semi-redeem himself with a rather pro-proletarian version of the Johnson County War, also known as the War on Powder River and the Wyoming Range War. The movie was long, and was panned by the critics, although time has improved the opinion of many. Incidentally, movies such as this show that actors, in general, even many of the greatest, cannot be trusted in matters of political morality or, general knowledge, let alone political courage. As Hitchcock said, “they’re like animals”—and no offence to the poor beasts!≠≠
