Holy guacamole Batman!
This is by far the most important and consequential commentary from Prof Marandi I have ever heard, and EVERY world leader needs to repeatedly listen to it and understand every point he made, solidly backed up by empirical facts and unassailable reason.
I have immense legacy respect for Scott Ritter, a brave and honorable and decent man who was right about WMDs in Iraq, was right about the fact the USA provoked Russia to intervene in Ukraine and who took a righteous stance against the Israeli / US genocide of Palestinians.
However Ritter’s view that Iran should cave in to US nuclear blackmail is batshit crazy and makes we wonder if he has either completely lost his mind or if he is trying to publicly ingratiate himself with the Trump regime for unknown reasons, perhaps because of Deep State threats against his family.
Ritter subscribes to the delusion that because the USA is the “world’s largest oil producer”, it is fossil fuel independent. That is a massively fraudulent trope, a lie perpetrated by the US propaganda machine. I tear down that curtain of deceit using explanations based on geology, physics and simple but undeniable arithmetic, in my Scheerpost comment here:

Prof Marandi is 100% correct that an attack on Iran will paralyse oil exports from West Asia, which will massively escalate global oil prices which will 100% collapse the US economy.
Indeed, Eric. That’s why we are spotlighting this video on the homepage, and we have created a new category—RED DOT SELECTION—to signify material of this caliber and urgency. And, BTW, you are totally right that the US s by no means the world’s largest oil/hydrocarbon producer, nor is it energy independent. producer. Not to mention, much of its oil is “dirty oil”, shale oil produced by fracking at great cost to nature and the unlucky humans and animals living in the proximity of these enormously disruptive extractive operations.
