What a ‘normal’ and insightful interview. No US hysterics or bloviations but a well-balanced view of a tough situation. Of course, the arch villain Putin is not immediately throwing nuclear bombs but will reduce ingrown war-like impulses at their weakest energy-demanding points. And that is where the US becomes more and more vulnerable in its ever more intricate technical developments. Faster to bring out of balance. But Orlov’s most significant remark was that the US should stay on its side of the Atlantic which most humans feel (think of Italy after the war “Yankee go Home!”) which is not even hostile but expresses the desire for not being interfered with.
