HTS rebels in Syria, the latest incarnation of the takfiri fanatics that devastated Syria a decade ago, in the service of the US empire, have risen again as a ghoul that refuses to die. It's clear the Washington mafia is determined to use any tool at their disposal, including terrorism, to extend Russia and her allies to the breaking point.
[blockquote align="none" author=""]Editor's Note: As the Empire's war against Russia and other sovereign nations in Eurasia (Iran, China, etc.) reaches critical turning points, and both its chief proxies in East Europe and Palestine (Ukraine and Israel) seem destined for a major defeat, Washington is pulling out all the stops in its dirty tricks bag to provoke diversionary conflicts in other regions. The idea is to open secondary fronts against Russia, "extending her" to the breaking point as recommended by the notorious Pentagon think-tank RAND in 2019. For example, the Empire, using its vassals in the NATO/EU mafia, is busy trying to stage regime change in Georgia and possibly Moldova, while also clearly meddling in the strategically critical nation of Romania. (More on this below). All of these nations are in Russia's "soft underbelly" and could easily (if zombified by the West as they did in Ukraine), turn into a major headache for Moscow.
Meanwhile, reaching for maximum malignancy, the Empire is also trying hard, using its usual stock of barbaric jihadists (and with Turkey's treacherous assist), to reignite the utterly depraved regime-change operation in Syria started by the Obama-Clinton regime back in 2011. The object remains the same: to topple Pres. Assad to substitute some puppet ruler that will do Washington's and Tel Aviv's bidding—while blocking all Iranian help to Hezbollah, a long-sought goal of Israel's. With Zionist-owned Trump in office, that is almost a foregone conclusion, and many Neocons are already drooling, so long-suffering Syria could again see ugly massacres and wanton destruction across her still scarred battlefields. At this point, a quick—and hopefully more definitive— victory against the Jihadists and their backers is essential. It's encouraging that, so far, despite some initial rebel gains, both Russia and Iran have responded with the degree of force, promptness, and military resolve the situation requires.[/blockquote]

Romanian flunkies are already working hard to neutralise the threat of an anti-NATO leader, and nullifying an election is just one of the dirty things they are prepared to do.
Turbulence in Romania
[blockquote align="none" author=""]Coverage of the latest elections in Romania by the Western media is, as usual, uniformly mendacious and disgraceful. A simple look at the map can show you why Romania—a highly civilised and historically crucial nation— is so critical to the collective West's war against Russia and her BRICS allies. Romania, which the Romans called Dacia, is a country located at the crossroads of Central, Eastern and Southeast Europe. It borders Ukraine to the north and east, Hungary to the west, Serbia to the southwest, Bulgaria to the south, Moldova to the east, and the Black Sea to the southeast. The Black Sea, that alone is enough to capture the great powers, and especially Moscow's attention, given its enormous strategic value.
The latest development is that a "far-right" candidate—Calin Georgescu—basically a populist, made notable gains in the recent elections, threatening to displace the West's (read US/NATO-EU) favorite, a "social democrat" that embodied the same treacherous liberal wokist interventionist values shared by other satraps of the Empire in the EU. As expected, the Western media and its pathetic political class—already in high dudgeon—are frenziedly deploying their usual arsenal of calumny and fearmongering across all media spaces. The official Wikipedia page—redacted by the CIA— gives us a taste of how the West's establishment sees Georgescu. The Wiki editors clearly threw everything but the kitchen sink at his bio: "Călin Georgescu (Romanian pronunciation: [kəˈlindʒe̯orˈdʒesku]; born 26 March 1962) is a Romanian far-right extremist politician, agronomist and prominent conspiracy theorist who worked in the field of sustainable development." "Far right"? That's enough to make any comfortable liberal run for the exits. Below we present several examples of this Western underhanded propaganda effort—their specialty—and also a strong corrective, the latter served by
Emil Cosman, who knows the region firsthand and is also blessed with a robust sense of humour. [/blockquote]
POLLUTED & TENDENTIOUS VERSIONS OF THE ROMANIAN ELECTION & REGIME CHANGE TURMOIL IN THE REGION.
Note how these Western TV reports on Romania, Georgia and Moldavia resemble Maidan-type of protests because they are all engineered and have been long prepared by Western NGOS like USAID, NED, the EU machinery, and other outfits that focus on brainwashing the young, and also use imported agents provocateurs, and the support of multiple media platforms.

Far-right candidate takes shock lead in Romania presidential election | BBC News
A far-right, pro-Russia candidate has taken a surprise lead in the first round of Romania's presidential election With more than 99% of votes counted, ultranationalist Calin Georgescu was on 23%, followed by centre-right candidate Elena Lasconi of the Save Romania Union and populist social democrat Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, the pre-election favourite. The strong showing of Georgescu, who has no party of his own and campaigned largely on the social media platform TikTok, came as the biggest surprise of the election.

Romania Presidential Elections: Accusations Of Georgescu Using Unfair Means To Sway Outcome | WION
The presidential election in Romania, which was supposed to proceed to a second round, has been thrown into chaos due to allegations of external influence. The Constitutional Court has called for a re-verification and recount of the votes. The controversy centers around a video shared on the TikTok app, which is believed to be the source of the alleged interference. Following the news breaking on Thursday night, Bucharest has witnessed a wave of public protests.
By Reuters—Britain's largest worldwide news agency. Note that Reuters, loyal to the collective West's dishonest political narrative, calls the social democrats "leftists", instead of centrist/rightist corporatist globalist liberals, which is what they really are. OK, it IS a mouthful, but someone has to push back against the reigning deliberate confusion.
James Ker-Lindsay, a British "national security" wonk, sums up the collective West's dishonest narrative, as he upends reality to fearmonger about Russia's supposed powers of global disinformation—laughable when compared to the West's. We don't know if this fellow actually believes the hogwash he's peddling here, but what he is selling is outright disinformation. Anyone who, at this point, still talks about "liberal democracies" with a straight face, as the world stands on the edge of nuclear Armageddon on account of such "democracies" imperialist DNA, or who disregards the clear slide of all these corrupt regimes towards tyranny, is either a fool or a dangerous fraud. The description accompanying this video says it all.
Romania’s recent presidential election has sent shockwaves through Europe. A largely unknown far-right candidate, Călin Georgescu, advanced to the 8 December runoff in an unprecedented result. Known for his pro-Russian, anti-NATO views, Georgescu’s rise has sparked allegations of electoral manipulation, particularly through TikTok, with attention focused on disinformation and foreign influence. The European Parliament has called for TikTok’s CEO to address these claims, while Romania’s Supreme Court ordered a recount. Amidst protests, questions about Georgescu’s campaign funding, and potential national security risks, concerns grow about Romania’s future alignment with NATO and the EU if he wins. This election highlights the growing threats of hybrid warfare, where disinformation and electoral manipulation destabilise democracies. Against a backdrop of accusations of Russian interference in global elections, from Brexit to the U.S., fears mount that Moscow may have weaponised Romania’s democratic processes. Georgescu’s potential presidency raises the alarming prospect of shifting Romania closer to Russian interests, challenging Western unity, and strengthening a bloc of pro-Moscow nations in Eastern Europe. Regardless of the runoff’s outcome, the election underscores the power of social media in shaping political outcomes and the mainstreaming of far-right ideologies, raising pressing questions about the resilience of liberal democracy and European security.
A MORE NUANCED EXPLANATION...
Emil Cosman, a Romanian-American vlogger, presents a more complex and interesting picture, closer to the truth. Because of the pervasive censorship in the West's social media platforms and despotic judicial persecutions in some countries, Emil obviously relies a great deal on hints and suggestions to describe the situation, but he is clear enough about the "infestation" and "occupation" by a foreign power (take a guess) affecting his native country. No, he avers, things are not going to change that easily in Romania.
Right-Wing, Pro-Russia Candidate Georgescu Leads in Romania's presidential Election.Who's in charge?

Right-Wing Candidate Georgescu Leads in Romania Presidential Election: Why is the West Trembling? Pro-Russian candidate unexpectedly leads in Romanian Presidential election. Romania investigates presidential candidate for ties with Russian intelligence. Romania's top court removes far-right candidate from presidential race.
Obviously Washington & Co. is not about to lose a key piece in its mosaic of anti-Russia nations by accepting the verdict of the ballot in Romania, hence the overt mobilisation of the judicial system to block Georgescu, while the media runs interference and the standby color revolution machinery swings into broad action.
