As usual the lying corporate media has provided no historical context for its torrent of tendentious images. No one has ever explained that these political processes and events are inherent in any class struggle.
• No explanation. that before Chavez/Maduro successive regimes controlled by US-backed elites merely exploited the vast majority of the people and the nation’s resources with no accountability;
• That all elections—when they existed—were completely rigged. That when the people rose in anger and frustration, they were brutally repressed by a thuggish army and police.
• That the scarcities and economic troubles encountered by Chavez/Maduro administrations were the result of constant economic, political and military attacks by the US and allied powers, especially. horrendous regime of sanctions, and not, as Trump says, the corruption and ineptitude of the socialist governments.
• That these conditions made many people turn against the revolution, or, lacking political understanding of the situation, simply seek the easy way out, by becoming emigrants to other nations.
• That Maduro, like Chavez, depicted as a corrupt tyrant, has persecuted no one in the coup-plotting opposition. Vociferous enemies of the Bolivarian process live freely in Venezuela, still control most of the country’s economic, financial, and media assets (the press is outrageously vociferous in its daily diet of lies about the government and its measures to improve the situation). Few nations anywhere would tolerate such a situation.
