JOHN RACHEL—Let me get this right. We’re supposed to call the AIPAC-funded, MIC forever war politicians, the folks that haven’t raised the minimum wage since 2009, the Big Pharma Big Health Insurance lapdogs who STILL have not instituted affordable, quality, universal health care in our country, the warmongering blowhards who have funded the slaughters in Gaza and Ukraine to the tune of $200 billion and counting, the misguided fools who have decided to allocate $1 trillion next year to the wasteful, self-destructive DOD, the elected representatives who kneel at the altar of Wall Street, hedge funds and the big banks, the incompetents who couldn’t even get it together to keep the government open for business . . . WE’RE SUPPOSED TO CALL THEM?

John Rachel
John Rachel has a B. A. in Philosophy, has traveled extensively, is a songwriter, music producer, novelist, and evolutionary humanist. He has spent his life trying to resolve the intrinsic clash between the metaphysical purity of Buddhism and the overwhelming appeal of narcissism. Prompted by the trauma of graduating high school and having to leave his beloved city of Detroit to attend university, the development of his social skills and world view were arrested at age 18. This affliction figures prominently in all of his creative work. Since 2008, when he first embarked on his career as a novelist, he has had 8 fiction and 3 non-fiction books published. These range from three satires and a coming-of-age trilogy, to a political drama and now a crime thriller. The three non-fiction works were political, his attempt to address the crisis of democracy and pandemic corruption in the governing institutions of America.

JOHN RACHEL mocks the toxic and utterly perfidious warmongering that typifies the US political and media class.

Russia Bad, America Good
If we had seen 27,000,000 Americans killed, the blood of the majority spilled right here on our own soil, how would we feel about having troops, nuclear-tipped tactical missiles, and ballistic missile defense radars and interceptors arrayed along the Canadian or Mexican borders? How would we read the intention of any nation insisting on putting these on our borders?by John Rachel20 minutes readJOHN RACHEL—Russia only has nine foreign military bases. This is in contrast to what many estimate to be 700-800 in at minimum 80 countries by the U.S. A cursory glance at a world map shows that a substantial number of these bases form a ring around Russia. Even the most impartial observer would not view this as a coincidence and would at least appreciate why Putin and company see much of what America does as provocative, if not blatantly confrontational — why some analysts on both sides conjecture that America is preparing to launch a “preemptive” nuclear attack on Russia, begging the question what such an attack would preempt other than the continuation of the human species.

JOHN RACHEL—I recognize that there are some nasty people out there, cynics who would want to portray Trump as being a crude, obnoxious opportunist, using his prominence as the world-renowned leader of the most powerful and wealthiest country in human history, to suck money out of the wallets of Trump loyalists and other gullible chumps. This would obviously be a grotesque and insulting abuse of power.

JOHN RACHEL—Here is the U.S. Federal Income Tax Rate Schedule from 1963.
Back then, if your gross income was $4,000 or less, you paid a 20% rate. If your gross income was $400,000 or more, on the earnings over $400,000 you paid a 91% rate. This scaling of tax liability is based on a straightforward, if highly contentious principle. The more you earn, the larger portion of those earnings should go toward the general funding of government and greater good of society. What is tendered in taxes is apportioned by ability to pay.
