Trump's Return: US Plans for Iran Isolation, Ukraine Support and War with China w/ Brian Berletic
EDITOR'S NOTE —Brian Berletic is —again—clear and comprehensive in his warning against premature celebration of the malignant US empire's downfall. What we are witnessing, says, Brian, is a global clash of the two main forces shaping contemporary history, the Eurasian multinodal bloc, driving the BRICS, led by Russia, China, and Iran, and the collective West, still headed by the US empire. The latter is still, despite its mediocre and at times pathetic leadership and incurable systemic issues (emanating from its blind allegiance to free market capitalism), an extremely powerful entity. The outcome of this clash —waged on many points of pressure, such as Syria, Ukraine, West Asia, the EU, the Caucasus, and certainly the Far East—is still being decided, as humanity awaits to see who will crack first. Each bloc is likely to suffer defeats and victories—Russia and Iran just saw a serious setback in Syria and Lebanon, while Washington may soon have to deal with a huge defeat in Ukraine—so proxies will suffer and may be destroyed, but before the path is clear humanity will probably come close or even enter a true nuclear Armageddon stage. The lesson is "Don't Count the US Empire Out" just yet. Washington is known for implementing a totally depraved, amoral strategy, diabolical in its effectiveness, and the multipolar world has yet to find effective ways of neutralising it. Ultimately, says Brian, the direction of US foreign policy remains imperialist and hegemonic, representing its unshakeable "continuity of agenda" under any administration, Democrat or Republican, with its prime objective the defeat of China.
PRECIS BY RACHEL BLEVINS
Trump returns to the White House on Monday, surrounded by a cabinet that is openly referring to China as the “biggest threat” to the U.S. and warning about war in the next decade. While Trump campaigned on ending the war in Ukraine, he’s in for a wake-up call when he enters talks with Russia. And even though Trump is being credited with getting the Israel-Hamas deal across the finish line, the ceasefire the two sides just entered into is only set to last for six weeks. Brian Berletic, a geopolitical analyst and Host of The New Atlas, noted that while the break from Israel’s bombing of the Gaza Strip is a relief for the Palestinians, it’s also a break for Israel… and it could be setting them up for future conflict with Iran, especially now that the overthrow of the Syrian government has opened up the region for the next target on the list of Neocons in Washington. Trump may have campaigned on “peace,” but his team is pursuing the opposite, as they work to weaken the allies of their ultimate target: China.

Yes, we have a war of the worlds, as fictionalized by H.G. Wells, but the West is quickly weakening. With Trump advertised as a man for the common man, disillusion will grow exponentially. As Musk well knows and shows, it is technological showmanship (in his case) that wins the day. Just so with Trump and his cabinet of young men and women, the basic rule is to advance the extortion of profits from the common man as long as the going is good but this will end under Trump’s rule. His propaganda is self-defeating and there will be nothing to back it up for him, exactly because of the internecine competition between the two factions of the oligarchy.
