The panel, with guests Greg Rosen and Indrajit Samarajiva, discusses the approaches used by capitalist elites to slow down the decline of the US global empire, keep extracting hefty profits (now increasingly from their own domestic populations), and the patchwork of highly contradictory measures and assumptions—many borrowed from or resembling those intrinsic to socialism (such as planning, for example)—which aim to "fix" capitalism's cyclical and long-term crises to fulfill the vision of capitalism as the most perfect system of social organization, "the end of history", or class struggle, as proclaimed by ideologue Francis Fukuyama. Of course, the official face of capitalism, "liberal democracy", can never be stable, since its inner dynamic is controlled by the ever and inevitably evolving capitalism, whose trajectory—in the long run—flows toward frequent crises, and eventually, revolution or fascism.
