Another master class in politics by Garland and Joti Brar, who compares the deterioration of living standards for ordinary people in the US and the UK, noting that in both cases the masses are clearly lacking a good leadership network, as the trade union bosses practice "business unionism", and the "parties of labour" are completely dedicated to the goals and interests of the anglo plutocracies. Garland and Joti determine that candidacies of "left" figures, like NYC's Zohran Mamdani are so much poppycock, distractions to prop up the idea of popular power via the ballot, and that parties are NOT the solution, especially the establishment sellout parties, whether of the right or the "left" (i.e., Democrats and Labour in the US and UK, respectively).

Joti and Garland agree that the ruling elites are clearly preparing a repressive machinery to contain the inevitable explosions of popular fury on account of their failure to deliver neither democracy, peace, nor a reasonable standard of living.  The most glaring example is the increased use of a militarised police and even army units in all major nations of the EU, and certainly in the US, where Trump is getting the people accustomed to seeing troops and military hardware in the streets on ludicrous pretexts, such as combating crime, the "migrant invasion", and other strawmen. 

Joti points out that parliamentarism is not only outrageously inadequate to cope with the current urgent problems facing society, from the cratering of working-class standards and services (i.e., UK's NHS), unemployment, etc., to the imperialist genocide and global wars being executed and planned by the capitalists to shore up their profits and influence in a period of profound systemic crisis, BUT also a dangerous, time-wasting distraction at a moment when the masses clearly need and demand genuine and dependable leadership. Social democrats like Corbyn or Mamdani will never offer the kind of leadership required to challenge the ruling bourgeoisie.

Meantime, the abuses continue to mount. Joti reminds the audience that in Britain it is not (yet) as common as in the US to see homeless encampments, as the state has given such people lodging in dilapidated, security-deficient, hotels owned by the rentier class who charge exorbitant rents ultimately paid out of the taxpayer's fund. She also notes that reasonable and rational solutions to the capitalist crisis, like providing workers with a decent income while laboring only 3 days or less a week, at their habitual wages, for example, are automatically rejected by the ruling elites.
