The self-aggrandizing “factchecking” brigade that emerged to confront the Trump administration is suddenly nonexistent as it rolls out a transparent, cynical PR strategy to delegitimize a Latin American government it’s trying to overthrow.

STEPHEN KARGANOVIC—The evidence on Srebrenica is far from settled. Judges at the ICTY have not been unanimous in their findings related to Srebrenica. Judge Prisca Matimba Nyambe strongly dissented from her colleagues in the Zdravko Tolimir trial. She said the trial had been unfair and that much of the evidence relied upon by her colleges was either biased or unreliable.

Bloomberg News Says a Fugitive Venezuelan Colonel has Confessed to Coup Attempt

A fugitive Venezuelan colonel captured last month after slipping back into the country was shown on video Thursday confessing to ties with the Central Intelligence Agency and Colombian officials. Colonel Oswaldo Garcia Palomo, 54, who’d publicly professed plans for rebellion and whose welfare was the focus of international attention, is shown looking reasonably fit in a dress shirt standing against a neutral background. He described logistical support and freedom to enter and exit Colombia as he worked last year to overthrow President Nicolas Maduro’s socialist government.

The ‘Peacekeeper’ Vigilante Website and Freedom of Speech in Ukraine

HALYNA MOKRUSHYNA—One of the new forms of intimidation of journalists and citizens who do not agree with the ‘official’ version of what is happening is Ukraine is the public exposure of their personal data by anonymous denunciators using the snitch Ukrainian website with the telling name ‘Myrotvorets‘, which translates as ‘Peacekeeper’ from Ukrainian. The website lists the names of journalists, Ukrainian citizens and foreign citizens accused of holding anti-Ukrainian and ‘pro-Russian’ views, foreigners who joined the military forces of the non-recognized ‘peoples republics’ of Donetsk and Lugansk, names of Russian volunteers assisting the republics or fighting on their side, and people who have entered Crimea through the territory of Russia instead of Ukraine.
