“The 60’s minutes” segment explained for several of those minutes, how Cubans have so few Motor yachts and all night convenience stores,and they took us by the hand and we understood that this is a bad thing. When they showed a wide view of the harbor which is supposed to be so sad, my jaw hit the ground – it was pristine! So little filth, it looked like there is still some industry and right up to the waters edge, no bourgeois luxury housing. It looked ideal, like maybe the way we should all be living if we expect for our grandchildren to have a planet to live on… One other thing, while 60 minutes droned on about the lack of evidence for a massive American style consumer society in Cuba all I could think is ,well, wasn’t that the whole point of a 50 year blockade? The irony was obviously lost on 60 minutes and they are certain it will be lost on the rest of us. It was pure propaganda.
