P. PAVIMENTOV—Chomsky recently put it very succinctly and correctly, Trump is but a salesman for the Republican party. The party is for the US owners only, but it needs of course a large support from voters, who are against abortion, for religion, adore patriotism etc., subjects which do not interest the owners, but which attract the voting public. That is the function Trump fulfills and he is successful at it.

PAUL EDWARDS—The MSM, while stonewalling the malevolent, Constitution-shattering attack on a free press by U.S. lust to extradite and entomb Julian Assange for publishing truth about our rogue assassin state, has ballyhooed a ludicrous, ahistoric tv junk fable as high art, demonstrating how vacuous and addicted to bonehead trash Americans have become. Separately or together, these burlesques of policy show the moral torpidity and pathetic inanimacy of a public that has been relentlessly lied to, cozened, infantilized, made stupid, and shorn of pride in itself by a Capitalist System that savages them with the same contempt it does all life. They’ve internalized it and now act as their own abusers.
Assange Indictments are not about Assange: Democrats Need to Drop their Hate and Support him
12 minutes readKOLLIBRI TERRE SONNENBLUME—But neither politicians nor the media will do the right thing unless there is sustained public pressure, and my fear is that not enough people will mobilize on Assange’s behalf to be effective at this task. As much as some prominent parties in the fourth estate are in a huff right now, all the ones I listed here participated in the demonization of Assange up until now. Their campaign to make people hate him worked and that won’t get turned around overnight, absent some new revelation. It’s up to activists to keep this fight alive and to ceaselessly harangue both decision-makers and taste-makers alike.
PG—Like Charlie Rose, a well known media courtier and apparently unsinkable establishment figure that saw his career as a top journo and imperial propagandist implode overight over sex abuse allegations, former CBS anchor Pelley suddenly bites the dust, but not for his decades-long work as a loyal disinformer at the service of imperialist America (as that would require the firing of everyone at CBS, and the implosion of the network itself, including its owners, all involved in constant lying to the American and world publics), but for relatively picayune reasons. The upshot is that the public is deprived from learning a moral lesson. And Scott Pelley (much too late) realises that private corporations are tyrannies where money and power decide all.
US-Backed Terrorists “Struggle” After Returning from Syria
GUNNAR ULSON—The US arming extremists through dubious “liberation fronts?” US diplomats’ lives being in danger from the very extremists their government is sponsoring? America’s own envoys describing the very people Washington is backing as “terrorists?” These are all now well-established, familiar themes seen repeating themselves again and again from Libya where a US consulate was in fact attacked and a US ambassador killed, to Syria where the “Free Syrian Army” turned out to be little more than window dressing for Al Qaeda and ISIS and now back to the Balkans where the US is already seeding the ground for future proxy wars.
Articles like those appearing in the Financial Times today or the Wall Street Journal years ago all but lay out the truth before the American public, but apparently more compelling is contemporary political rhetoric of “fighting terrorism” or backing “liberation fronts” on humanitarian grounds.
