W J ASTORE—Consider, for example, Bernie Sanders’s efforts to get a living wage for Disney employees. Disney has finally promised to pay workers $15.00 an hour (phased in over the next few years), even as the corporation makes record profits and the CEO stands to earn hundreds of millions. Second, you’ll notice the bulk of the Trumpian tax breaks aren’t going to the workers and middle class: it’s the richest Americans (and corporations) that benefit the most from these cuts.

RAINER SHEA—The global capitalist class, which has welcomed Bolsonaro’s neoliberal presidency, is turning the earth into one big sacrifice zone. Climate change is going to create what a recent U.N. report has described as “climate apartheid,” where the world’s entire population aside from an insulated global elite are pushed into poverty or made into refugees amid the environmental collapse. As the middle classes within the core imperialist nations become part of the victimized population in this emerging dystopia, they will experience the same loss of stability and dignity that the colonized people have.
The U.S. is trying to turn Hong Kong into a corporatized state
15 minutes readRAINER SHEA—Yet another U.S. fingerprint in Hong Kong is the tactic that protesters have taken up of goading the police into responding violently so that the Chinese government can be delegitimized in the minds of those who follow the movement’s propaganda. This approach of “aggressive nonviolence” was developed by U.S. soft power operative Gene Sharp, who’s now indirectly helping the protesters manufacture violent confrontations that the American media can exploit to the advantage of the anti-Beijing faction.
Facebook Targets Lee Camp & Jimmy Dore For Censorship.
1 minutes readJIMMY DORE—LEE CAMP— The two activists discuss how Facebook and other social media giants are trying to strangle free voices telling it like it is by blocking their communications with their followers and also aggressively demonitising their sites. Their main offfence is of course that Camp and Dore are antiwar, and anti-capitalism. Lee Camp accurately describes the situation as a drip drip approach to the strangling of free speech. It reminds us of the legendary frog in the pot, who is boiled to death so slowly he never realises he must jump out immediately to avoid certain death. As stated in our pages many times and seen on similar anti-establishment orgs, the corporate system, like ghouls scared of the daylight, is frightened by truth. The water keeps getting hotter and hotter in the pot, but the animals are not taling remedial action.
North Korea Shows How a Society Can Heal After Suffering Through Imperialist Violence
RAINER SHEA—In living memory, the people of North Korea have endured an act of violence that’s equivalent to the Holocaust. When the U.S. partnered with the right-wing south Korean dictator Syngman Rhee to provoke the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea into war, the Americans took an approach to warfare that amounted to crimes of genocide under international law. By carpet bombing all the major cities in North Korea without exception, burning down every town in North Korea, and committing atrocities like pouring gasoline down air ducts and burning North Korean children alive, American troops killed 1.55 million innocent North Korean civilians. This amounted to a population loss of about one-fourth for north Korea.
