Garland and Laith discuss the semi-deranged ways Israel is lashing out in all directions, clearly provoking the chief regional members of the anti-imperialist alliance (Iran, Hezbollah, Yemen, Iraqi militias, and even Russia) into some escalation that might bring the US directly into the conflict. Moscow, of course, is furious with Israel’s attack on Iran’s Damascus embassy, and her repeated incursions, directly and by proxy, into Syria, with a view toward destabilizing Damascus. For the empire and its vassals, including Israel, have not given up on the idea of overthrowing Bashar al-Assad, and the empire sees benefit in overextending and distracting Russia.
Laith sees hope, however, in the fact that Israel is a deeply dysfunctional state whose days may be numbered. The Great Arab nation will rise again, believes Laith, after getting rid of the satraps that control it through artificial divisions, and when that day comes, and it is getting closer, Israel will have to adapt or die.

Marouf poses interesting possibilities. The US would like to ‘deal with’ Iran as it is resistant to imperialist aggression and territorially almost on a par with China. But obviously the US military resists the war cabal in Biden ‘s cabinet because Iran is not Libya which was defenseless. That country’s fate was a warning to the whole Middle East, but by now there is a counterbalance to the US, formed by Russia and China. Why the US followed Israel in breaking the delicate balance is not quite clear unless it is a foolish replacement for the defeat of Ukraine. Israel is fighting for survival which has become more unstable since its attack on Gaza. Which is one of the world’s historical mistakes, because it threatens to weaken the country instead of solving the continuing Palestinian resistance. The reactionary Biden regime has not advanced to the realization that the world has changed drastically since 2014. Trump who will probably not succeed is a sign of the ‘new’ world brutality, which will clearly see the unavoidable ‘Untergang des Abendslandes’.
