Prof Richard Wolff is a superbrilliant economic expert whose arguments are overwhelming.

They conclude that Trump’s role is to manage the USA’s inevitable decline. This is an extrapolation from Emmanuel Todd, the French political scientist, who wrote that Trump’s role is to manage the USA’s inevitable defeat by Russia in the Ukraine proxy war.
Prof Desai was correct to state that Trump cannot actually manage anything. She said he is, rather, trying to surf on the wave of decline.
Surfing implies he is on top of things and I think a more appropriate metaphor is that Trump is desperately dog paddling, trying to keep his head above water, as his shithole country is plunging uncontrollably down a swirling raging vortex down into a….er… shithole.
