TANTRUM DIPLOMACY

Trump is “pissed off”—his diplomatic neologism—at Putin for not buying his “deal” on the Ukraine meatgrinder.  He’s punishing him, by frowning, and holding his breath.  If he doesn’t cave then, he may put out his tongue at him and make farting noises.

There have been so many crimes and stupidities executed by American Presidents, so many vicious, murderous, imbecile actions taken by the roster of hopeless mediocrities who have dwelt in our Castle Dracula, that volumes couldn’t tell them all.

Our diseased system—in which psychopathic billionaires recruit vile scumbags with bags of money to buy political office so they can provide their pimps all the wealth our braindead citizenry can generate—reliably elects ugly, destructive pricks as Presidents.

No one ever beat Mencken’s take on our “democratic elections”:

“…all odds are on the man who is most devious and mediocre.  The office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great, glorious day the folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

Morons, we’ve had.  Even criminal morons, who served another country instead of ours, as blathering, mush-minded Biden did the Zionist Nazi killers of Bibi’s, and the punk, sock puppet, Zelensky.

All that admitted, Trump is by a country mile the most grotesque bottom-feeder in the history of our stinking, toxic political sewer.

This shallow, puerile, atrophied specimen of the basest vulgar minds is, if American ideals—trashed and shat on—have a ghost of substance yet, treason embodied, in a surpassingly ugly form.

This moral homunculus replaces censorship with total elimination of free speech, banning criticism of rabid Israeli murderers.

He defies law to deport, without cause, whom he wishes, legal resident academics and students, without charge or recourse.

He set his chainsaw lunatic on government bureaus to cut waste, while exempting that putrid latrine of graft and theft, the Military.

All his decrees stink of raw racism, white supremacy, patriarchy, jejune chauvinism, and psychopathic imperial hubris.

His gross ignorance of diplomatic and military affairs invites nuclear war with both the world’s greatest armed powers.

His deranged, baseless, and infantile economic illiteracy has monkey-wrenched world trade and invites financial meltdown.

The upshot of this is that this raging loose cannon is a clear and present danger to our sick nation and the world, and his solipsistic lunacy needs to be stifled before it triggers universal catastrophe.

This, however, won’t be done by our pathetic country.  It suffers from ethical catatonia.  This condition—inability to respond with normal human empathy to that most horrifying crime, the Gaza genocide—is unusual in whole peoples, but endemic in ours.

It manifests in three forms of cognitive incapacity.  The first, that afflicts over a third of Americans, is stupidity.  You have heard the old saw, delivered in smarmy, obsequious tones: “The American people are not stupid”.  Not so.  They are.  A great many of them.

The second, affecting almost two thirds of us, is having a passive, torpid apparatus of intellection so propagandized as to be—in the way insulin shock or frontal lobotomy rendered mental patients blasted and dulled—bereft of capacity to recognize fact.  This set is deeply in love with Empire induced deceit, and laps it up.

The last group, minuscule, is the Manipulators.  These are the Masters of Disaster, to whom truth and fact are not necessary. They are paid lavishly to sell the official bullshit of The Empire.

These three work in harness to keep Americans sunk in a bog of impenetrable ignorance, not only about the evil of The Empire’s murder abroad, but about their own vital, self-interest at home.

Of course, the stupid and propagandized have been trained to applaud The Empire’s rapine and murder so they don’t consider their own well-being, so long as they are wanked by their masters, by talking dirty to them about their racist, sexist, imbecile hates.

Where’s the hope in all this?  There isn’t any.  Empires have a life span, like all things under the sun.  Ours is ending, and none too soon, for what’s left of the world after the cancer of Capitalism.

The American Empire, in its short arc, repeated what Athens proved two millennia ago.  A system based on greed devours itself.  When money rules, all life is finally exchanged for death.

There is nothing new in the sorry spectacle of the breakdown and dissolution of empire.  The fact one is in it is regrettable, but can’t be helped.  It was no consolation to dead Seneca when Nero got his, and the ruin and demise of Trump will be none to us, either.

Near a century ago, Robinson Jeffers wrote a poem he called, “Shine, Perishing Republic”.  Shining, or not, it perished long ago.  We have only its dead shell, a dying empire, impossible to mourn, and a cause for rejoicing, though its death may end us all.
