[su_note note_color=”#ebf1f7″ radius=”17″]INTRODUCTION: This is part 1 of an unknown number of essays. I am hopeful that Uber Meister Patrice will allow all the parts of this series to be published, even the tedious ones, heavy on the geology of petroleum and on the hard physics of energy, which are absolutely essential to big picture understanding. The goal is to provide lay readers with profound insights into the inextricable links between fossil fuels (mainly petroleum and gas), and all aspects of the military, industry, agriculture, mining sectors, chemical/plastics/pharmaceutical production and therefore economics, finance, geopolitics and WAR, especially the looming prospect of WW3.[/su_note]

Why did the CIA/MI6 depose the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran in 1953?
It’s the oilconomy, stupid.
Why did the USA instigate and fund their (then) puppet Saddam Hussein of Iraq in 1980 to attack independent Iran, leading to a war that lasted 8 years and killed more than a million people?
It’s the oilconomy, stupid.
Why did the USA wage Gulf War 1 against the (now) rebellious Saddam in 1990?
It’s the oilconomy, stupid.
Why did the USA subsequently impose primary and secondary sanctions on Iraq, leading to the death of more than half a million Iraqi children by 1996?
It’s the oilconomy, stupid.
Why did the USA wage Gulf War 2 against the still rebellious Saddam in 2003, leading to the collapse of Iraq, civil war, the creation of ISIS and the death of more than a million Iraqis?
It’s the oilconomy, stupid.
Why did the USA impose primary and secondary sanctions against Venezuela from 2005, causing economic collapse and the deaths of tens of thousands of Venezuelans by 2018?
It’s the oilconomy, stupid.
Why did the USA/NATO bomb Libya in 2011?
It’s the oilconomy, stupid.
Why are US troops occupying oilfields in NorthEast Syria?
It’s the oilconomy, stupid.
Why is the US/Zionist axis engaged in ongoing war against Iran in 2025?
It’s the oilconomy, stupid.
Why is the USA threatening to bomb/invade Venezuela in 2025?
It’s the oilconomy, stupid.
Note: all of the above are or were regime-change attempts by the USA, either successful or unsuccessful, using economic or military violence, to overthrow foreign leaders and install puppets complicit with the US agenda to loot their oil.
Although I use the term “oilconomy” to echo a famous quote from a Clinton apparatchik, the matters to be discussed are more accurately described by a wider term, “oilgasconomy”, which is an awkward neologism that does not roll off the tongue as smoothly, hence, I will tend to use the former term, which will also encompass the latter.
For example: The US bombing of the Nordstream pipelines in 2022, which subsequently “conveniently” enabled US LNG to be sold to the Europeans at “only” six times the price of Russian piped gas, also comes under the umbrella of, “It’s the oilconomy, stupid”.
I try to explain important concepts originating from experts far smarter than myself eg M King Hubbert, Colin Campbell, Charles Hall etc as well as various economists going back to Adam Smith. The explanations I offer are personal interpretations of those concepts, using my own personal definitions, which I believe are improvements over existing dictionary or doctrinal definitions, because they better enable understanding of the key concepts. I have taken and will take great pains to ensure correct and accurate information, however apart from a few assertions regarding certain” events or facts, I will not provide specific references. I strongly encourage readers to fact check all information for themselves which can be done easily these days with web searches and A.I. engines.
For example: if any of you doubt the accuracy of my historical references at the beginning of this article, you can easily websearch that information for yourself.
Providing references for each and every assertion will just bloat these essays to unmanageable proportions.
These are the provisional titles of some upcoming intended essays seen through the lens of energy and the various products (eg plastics, fertiliser, chemicals) derived from petroleum and natural gas:
-
WEALTH, ECONOMICS, FINANCE, MONEY, DEBT and CURRENCY
-
MATERIAL WEALTH and THE US PETRODOLLAR
-
PRICE, COST and VALUE
-
PETROLEUM GEOLOGY, PEAK OIL and some energy concepts
-
EROEI (EROI or ERR) verses NET ENERGY and more energy concepts
-
THE CERTAIN END OF INDUSTRIAL CIVILISATION (unless…)
-
US DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN POLICY vs CHINESE DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN POLICY
Brace yourself for a rollercoaster ride.
[su_box title=”About the Author” style=”bubbles” box_color=”#0778d1″ radius=”18″] Eric Arthur Blair is the nom de guerre for a scientific/medical philosopher living in one of the Hegemon’s satrapies known as Airstrip Three (not quite the Belly of the Beast but Belly Adjacent and fully propagandised). After the unprovoked invasion of Iraq in 2003 based on US lies, he realised his pathetic lifetime attempts to do good were useless, indeed meaningless, compared to the monstrous mass murders and mayhem perpetrated by the Evil Empire. This raised the question as to whether one can claim to be a good person without actively opposing evil, and what form such opposition should take. That can only be answered by each individual for themselves. From each according to their abilities. He is currently pursuing enlightenment while chopping wood and carrying water…[/su_box]

“A hidden U.S.-Israeli agenda has long been to control oil and gas fields off the Gaza coast that are estimated to be worth more than $500 billion.”
It’s the oilconomy, stupid!
Overthrowing “seven countries in five years” was the agenda of the US Deep State hatched in the 1990s which shocked General Wesley Clark.

Jeffrey Sachs said that damaging and overthrowing Iraq and Syria was the particular agenda of Israel. Why? To destroy the pipeline from Iraq to Syria and then steal oil from an overthrown Iraq, to pipe to Haifa in Israel, for Israeli use and export profiteering. .
