Paul Edwards
ASSOCIATE EDITOR
[su_pullquote]The American Mental No-Fly Zone must successfully keep our deeply ignorant people from access to dangerous information that would counter the moronic pap they are fed, and encourage rigorous thinking by exposure to realities. There is nothing new in this, but the degree to which it’s now imposed is unprecedented.[/su_pullquote]
Associate Editor Paul Edwards is a genuine Renaissance man, gifted with many talents and participant in many events and struggles of our tormented times. Our colleague Jeff Brown, who did a fine interview with him, sums it up thusly: “Paul’s life story is worthy of a biography: a rebel youth growing up, traveling and working around the world and then a long career as a Hollywood writer. Through it all, he has never lost his lifelong wrath against US imperialism and global capitalism, while seeking social and economic justice for humanity’s 99%…”

The utter contempt for its subject that characterizes this article is being shared by increasing numbers. However, can those numbers make a difference? The appalling ignorance that one encounters at the everyday level during casual conversation is enough to set me off of lunch. The irresponsibility of grown adults in the failure to question blatant propaganda is truly disheartening. I shed “friends” regularly.
I know the feeling mr esmond, but what sort of friends were/are they and what will be left when we have shed them all ? Thats a real question by the way …
Paul Edwards and before him, George Carlin, have for years been warning about the willful ignorance of the people, daily reinforced by what should be obvious bullsh&t of the MSM. And yet, even though people sort of know they’re being played, they still with few exceptions keep going to the same Mainstream sources that have always lied to them. And what’s worse, is that even though I fully agree with him, I usually don’t share articles like this, because people simply are impervious to the truth he states. “Yeah, but the NYT says….so it must be true.”.
It appears more and more likely that only brutal direct experience will get through them but then it’ll be far too late.
When the United States invades other countries we always claim R2P, the right to protect. Why can’t Putin claim the same?
Larry:
Maybe because he’s not constantly invading other countries, nor does he need lies to cover his actions. Usually he tells it like it is.
