I would not be too concerned about what happens to El Sisi and Abdullah or Zelenskiy. Modern imagination and interest fades quickly and the disreputable media make clear that out of sight is out of mind. Even human atrocities are quickly forgotten. What counts is today and how much material wealth can be pressed out of the hoi polloi. The rest is incidental and of passing importance. We live back in the Middle Ages.
I don’t consider the West’s dealing with Zelensky as a betrayal. Zelensky knowingly made a deal with the devil, actually two devils, the USA/Nato and the Nazis, who collaborated with them, just as they did with the Germans in WWII. There is a saying going around these days ‘F*ck around and find out’. They all were motivated by greed hatred and delusion, they thought they could get away with “Lying, cheating, stealing” and killing. They all misjudged Russia just as they did in WWII. So one could say that they betrayed each other. Zelensky will take his ill gotten gains if he’s lucky to stay alive. The Ukrainian people also fell for the pied piper dream of EU membership. So they are partially culpable, although many had no choice when their country was sold out by traitors. But if anyone was betrayed, it was the majority of Ukrainians, who lost their country. And especially when the leaders broke with the USSR, the first betrayal.
