We are not exagerating. At The Greanville Post not a single writer or editor gets paid. It’s all volunteer labour. Several of the most senior editors live on social security, a paltry income at best, but their lifelong commitment to social justice is strong. Technicians (webmaster and art people) get paid periodicallly, when we have a bit of spare cash, or in emergencies, but they also mostly volunteer or donate a large measure of their services. Maintaining and strengthening ouf network of radical, incorruptible, dedicated and expert voices, especially at this time of dreadful crisis for humanity and our planet, with all vital ecosystems in near collapse, is essential. So please think about it, and donate what you can. Every cent you donate to TGP is an investment in truth, and truth is the only shot we got.
It’s been now almost 36 hours since our main site, THE GREANVILLE POST, was hit by a vicious hack that forced us to work around the clock to make the necessary repairs, salvage what was salvageable, and maintan ourselves in the ring. The Greanville Post is really two sites with a combined inventory of almost 50,000 articles, and about 6500 videos plus other types of documents and materials. They are the product of dedicated work since 1992, and represent an investment of literally thousands of hours, and more money than anyone here can afford, since no one has deep pockets or a trust fund, nor, as you can imagine, do we have the financial backing of those who seek our destruction, including, we suspect, the shady entities operating at the US taxpayers’ expense. whose mission, behind a variety of cynical pretexts, is simply to eliminate any form of effective dissent.
In this dismal framework truth is not just valuable it is imperative, it’s the only chance we have. What’s more, we need to use whatever freedom of speech we still have to transmit these facts and narratives before the window shuts down and it probably will if there is no organised push back.
Tyrion is not an app liable to set the world on fire or dazzle the younger generation accustomed to a lot of high-tech magic. But we think it does simply and well what it was designed to do: give mobile devices a way to link with our sites and their resources, at least some of them for the time being, more will be added later.
