ANTI-NEOLIBERALISM

HUA BIN—The brutal reality is China must focus completely on winning the hard power competition with the US. The best outcome is of course winning without fighting a hot war. But that is unlikely to happen as no hegemon in history has chosen to fade without fighting with everything it has. Nothing in US rhetoric and behavior today or its short but violent history in the past gives hope that it wants to pursue co-existence with adversaries, real or imagined, anywhere in the world. It is clear that the US doesn’t want a multipolar world unless forced to live in one.

BELLY OF THE BEAST—Thousands of Cubans gathered in Havana to express their condolences and pay tribute to the 32 Cubans who lost their lives during the U.S. attack on Venezuela. “We’re here to recognize the bravery of those who sacrificed their lives,” said Dailene Dovale, a university professor. “If there are 32 no longer with us, there are millions of Cubans today who are ready to follow the path of those 32,” said a Cuban doctor who previously served on a medical mission in Venezuela

KEN KLIPPERSTEIN—ICE has become lost on what they perceive is an American battlefield but with none of the self-examination with regard to the havoc they are creating and how to better protect its own “troops” and safeguard civil rights. It has just responded to the protests by adding more guns and acting even more like masked vigilantes. Now it has added trigger-happy to the mix.

COL BILL ASTORE—Imagine if Venezuela attacked the U.S. Imagine if President Trump and Melania Trump were seized, and that the Venezuelan attorney general said they would face justice in Venezuela. I’d imagine that nearly all Americans would see this as an act of war, a gross violation of national sovereignty. American vengeance would be swift.

CALEB MAUPIN—The video delves into a fundamental contradiction within the capitalist mode of production, focusing on the concept of “glut”—a phenomenon where markets crash due to overproduction amid insufficient purchasing power. This crisis has never existed before capitalism because prior economic systems did not produce wealth on such a scale. Maupin explains that under capitalism, products are created using materials, transportation, and human labor, but workers are paid less than the value of their labor, allowing capitalists to extract profit from this difference. Crucially, the total wages paid out (C1) are always less than the total value of the products (D), creating a systemic shortage of buying power among workers to purchase what they produce. This discrepancy leads to overproduction or glut, triggering economic crashes and boom-bust cycles.
