Atrocity Inc: How Israel Sells Its Destruction Of Gaza
The Grayzone
Please excuse the annoying ads. Unfortunately, all social platforms now carry them.

In an exclusive new documentary, Max Blumenthal rips the cover off the media deceptions and atrocity hoaxes Israel pushed after October 7 to create political space for its gruesome assault on the Gaza Strip. Blumenthal exposes the US mainstream media's role as a megaphone for the Israeli government, introducing new lies even after their initial ones were debunked.
Atrocity Inc raises serious questions about the official narrative of October 7, while revealing how Israel's army has consciously engaged in the same hideous atrocities which it falsely accused Palestinian militants of committing.

What do Gazans really think about Yahya Sinwar?

A video released by the Israeli army showing Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar just moments before his death, dressed in a keffiyeh and fatigues, flinging a stick in defiance at a quadracopter drone, and fighting to his last breath, galvanized international support for Palestinian armed resistance to Israel - and drove a surge of respect for Sinwar.

As the Harris-Biden administration trumpeted Sinwar’s killing as an opportunity for peace, Western outlets like the New York Times quoted anonymous Palestinians celebrating his death.

To get a better sense of what Palestinians in Gaza really thought about Sinwar, The Grayzone sent a reporter into the streets of Khan Younis, near where the late leader was raised, to ask what locals with no affiliation with Hamas to comment on his death and the legacy he left behind.

EDITED AND HOSTED BY THE GREANVILLE POST

By Joe Lauria
Special to Consortium News
THIS IS A REPOST. FIRST RUN ON 7 SEPT 2020

Dateline: September 4, 2020

Misgivings about who ran this site can co-exist with legitimate alarm about the combined attacks by the FBI, the Times and other corporate media on the political nature — and not the accuracy — of its published content, writes Joe Lauria.

This kind of development, long expected, given the broad daylight preparations by various parts of the imperialist establishment, but specifically spearheaded by the Democrat wing which has shown itself shamelessly Machiavellian in its alliance with the security apparatus, represents a major threat to the survival of free speech on the Internet, and in particular dissident sites such as this. Similar Orwellian acts are being seen in Europe, too, with arch hypocritical Britain,  saddled with a rotten upper class that often outstrips its American counterpart, leading the charge in dismantling its own vaunted democracy. As veteran journalist Joe Lauria warns, "The takedown of PeaceData worryingly may be a pretext to go after legitimate 'homegrown' media as 'disinformation campaigns' if they do not conform to the Establishment narrative." Equally troubling, this new inquisition is grounded in a cynical falsehood. As Lauria points out, "Progressive views may be a threat to the Establishment but not to the security of the nation, which the Establishment continuously confuses itself with." Indeed.

The bottom line is that this may be just the dress rehearsal for full blown McCarthyism and worse, at a time when, on the edge of a World War 3 cataclysm— the world depends more desperately than ever on truthful and accurate, or, at least, genuinely honest communications.  Please take full note of the implications, not just for us, but for you.—The Editor

A website that Facebook and Twitter banned and which they and The New York Times say was being financed from Russia to help President Donald Trump get re-elected, until it was shut down on Friday, published several articles harshly critical of Trump, including one that called him “unstable and unhinged.”

The site, PeaceData (peacedata.net), also ran articles critical of Democratic nominee Joe Biden and other Democrats.

It was the site’s content, which critiqued both Establishment parties, more than its alleged financing from Russia, that appears to have alarmed U.S. intelligence agencies, corporate media and social media giants, leading to the site shutting itself down.

The New York Times reported:

“The Russian group that interfered in the 2016 presidential election is at it again, using a network of fake accounts and a website set up to look like a left-wing news site, Facebook and Twitter said on Tuesday.

The disinformation campaign by the Kremlin-backed group, known as the Internet Research Agency, is the first public evidence that the agency is trying to repeat its efforts from four years ago and push voters away from the Democratic presidential candidate, Joseph R. Biden Jr., to help President Trump.

Intelligence agencies have warned for months that Russia and other countries were actively trying to disrupt the November election, and that Russian intelligence agencies were feeding conspiracy theories designed to alienate Americans by laundering them through fringe sites and social media.”

Twitter and Facebook acted after the Federal Bureau of Investigation tipped them off. The alleged “Russian operation” was first “detected by the National Security Agency,” the Times says. The FBI said it “provided information in this matter to better protect against threats to the nation’s security and our democratic processes.” (sic)

In other words, a very obscure left-wing website, critical of Trump and Biden, was chillingly deemed a “threat” to national security and democracy by America’s federal law enforcement agency.

Questions

PeaceData ran a rebuttal on Wednesday but questions remain about who ran the site. So far, Consortium News has been unable to obtain contact information for its listed editor, Jake Sullivan.

Misgivings about who ran this site, however, can co-exist with legitimate alarm about the combined attacks by the FBI, the Times and other corporate media on the political nature — and not the accuracy — of the published content. That presents the spectacle of a leading news outlet and two social media companies joining a state security agency in an effort to trample press freedom.

One headline of a PeaceData article that the Times cited as supporting Trump and white supremacist groups was headlined, “Boogaloo Movement: USA Far Right is Growing Thanks to Donald Trump.”

In later editions, the Times removed the reference to this particular article from the story, but its original inclusion raises questions about the diligence — and independence — of the paper’s work here.

The Times‘ reporters on the story did not appear to have read the article, whose contents are the exact opposite of the impression the Times was trying to create.

The PeaceData piece began:

“As of this writing, the United States is rocked with civil unrest due to racism and police violence, and the country continues to break records for the most cases of coronavirus. The unstable and unhinged president Donald Trump makes things far worse domestically and internationally with his inflammatory language and his disdain for science. As this occurs, a new, radical right-wing ‘movement’, one fueled at least in part by Trump’s racist rhetoric, has entered the U.S. This is known as the ‘Boogaloo’ movement, and while loosely organized, has as its goal civil war. Members tend to be gun enthusiasts, neo-Nazis and white supremacists.”

PeaceData also took on Trump over several other issues, including climate change, Covid-19, and immigration.

IRA Again

PeaceData was accused of being funded by the St. Petersburg-based Internet Research Agency, which the Times says “was very active in the 2016 presidential election, and a recent bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee report detailed Russian interference in support of Mr. Trump’s election.” In fact, half of IRA’s Facebook ads were purchased after the 2016 election and half of those before the election supported Hillary Clinton, and the other half, Trump. The IRA spent about $100,000 on the ads, compared to the $6.5 billion spent by the Clinton and Trump campaigns.

“Now Facebook and Twitter are offering evidence of this meddling,” the fourth paragraph of the Times story begins, although nowhere in the rest of the article is any evidence presented. The Times says Facebook made its decision based on a report — which the Times does not link to — written by a company called Graphika.

While spotlighting PeaceData’s purported links to the Russian government, the Times fails to provide readers the same service when it comes to Graphika’s own official connections, in this case to the U.S. government.

Graphika describes itself as an:

“SAAS [software as a service] and managed services company. Our cutting-edge technology creates large-scale explorable maps of social media landscapes. Our in-depth analysis reveals meaningful insights to help clients and partners understand complex online networks and take decisive action.”

Graphika: Considers The Grayzone journalists as "Russian assets". Anyone to the left of Joe Biden is a suspect.

Among its clients are the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee, the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the U.S. Defense Department’s Minerva Initiative. Its report is peppered with intelligence jargon like, “we can conclude with high confidence.”

The Graphika report, linked here, claims, “The personas the network created masqueraded as left-wing journalists and editors.” This “network” consisting of the site and social media accounts, is supposedly run by IRA, a private company. Nowhere in the 38-page report does Graphika offer any evidence of IRA funding, such as wire transfers or linked bank accounts.

That didn’t stop Twitter from suspending five accounts linked to PeaceData because of “platform manipulation that we can reliably attribute to Russian state actors,” even though IRA has never been proven to be a state actor.

One-time home in St. Petersburg, Russia, of Internet Research Agency. (WikiMedia Commons)

Special Counsel Robert Mueller indicted IRA officials in 2018 for supposedly interfering in the 2016 U.S. election. But the Department of Justice, after stalling on IRA lawyers’ demands for discovery, then dropped the case in March, arguing that the company sought to “weaponize” the documents they obtained. A federal judge had earlier ordered Mueller to stop referring to the IRA as a state actor.

The dropping of the 2018 case against the IRA is not mentioned in The New York Times account on Wednesday accusing the IRA of new allegations of electoral interference.

Political Content Attacked

Beyond the allegation that the IRA was paying for the website, Graphika, the Times (and othercorporate outlets), Facebook, Twitter and the FBI focused sharply on the political angle of the website.

“The Peace Data site appeared to be a more worrying example of ‘information laundering,‘ a more covert and potentially dangerous effort by Moscow,” reported the Times, which has itself made a habit of laundering anonymous U.S. intelligence disinformation — from WMD in Iraq to Russiagate.

“Russian intelligence agencies have used allies and operatives to place articles, including disinformation, into various fringe websites,” the Times said.

The Graphika report adds:

“In keeping with that identity, they [this alleged IRA “network” of Facebook pages and Twitter handles] published and shared articles about the race protests in the United States, accusations of foreign interference and war crimes committed by the U.S., corruption, and the suffering caused by capitalism. They particularly aimed their posts at progressive groups in the U.S. and UK and criticized both right-wing and center-left politicians while endorsing progressive and left-wing policies.”

Graphika seemed alarmed that on PeaceData’s Arabic-language site “some articles also attacked France in general and President Emmanuel Macron in particular, and accused them of an ‘imperialist’ approach toward Africa.” This is in line with the Times quoting Ben Nimmo, director of investigations at Graphika and an Atlantic Council fellow, as saying, “In terms of posting, they were clearly significantly left of the Biden-Harris campaign,” as if this were a threat to “national security” as the FBI contends.

PeaceData had a mix of original and republished articles, Graphika tells us, from publications such as The Grayzone, which Graphika smears as a “pro-Kremlin site.”

Troubled by Assange Reporting

Graphika also reported in a disapproving tone that PeaceData wrote stories favorable to imprisoned WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange:

“These articles systematically presented Assange and the leakers as victims of an oppressive system. Snowden, for example, was termed a ‘global hero,’ and Manning was labeled a ‘fighter against the concealment of the truth’ who was subjected to ‘police state viciousness.’ The court case against Assange was referred to as a ‘kangaroo court,’ ‘political persecution,’ and a ‘perceived international conspiracy.’ Assange himself was described as ‘rotting to death’ in a UK prison, the victim of ‘Starmer’s crusade against whistleblowing,’ and a victim of ‘mendacious and vindictive’ treatment by the UK legal system.

The PeaceData website also referenced WikiLeaks in its coverage of another issue: the chemical attacks on civilians in Douma, Syria, in April 2018.

On five occasions between December 2019 and May 2020, peacedata[.]net reproduced articles that alleged, based on Wikileaks leaks, that the Organization for the Prevention of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) had doctored its report on the Douma attack. PeaceData’s decision to reproduce these reports is consistent with earlier Russian operations against the OPCW, notably the attempt by agents from Russian military intelligence to hack the OPCW in April 2018.”

Graphika generally runs down the progressive line of the site, pointing out that it was hostile to both Trump and Biden, which of course is a perfectly legitimate position to take. But there is apparently something nefarious about this, according to the Graphika report:

“There is no indication that the freelancers who wrote the articles were anything but sincere in their writing. However, in the context of an operation run by fake personas from Russia, the decision to espouse progressive positions and attack both center-left and right-wing politicians indicates an attempt to woo more left-wing audiences for future influence operations. This is consistent with the operation’s targeting of progressive Facebook groups, discussed below; it is also consistent with the original IRA’s attempt to depress support for then-Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton by infiltrating and influencing progressive audiences.”

This reduces journalism that rejects both Establishment parties to merely “an attempt to woo more left-wing audiences for future influence operations.”

To the extent that any publication, including The New York Times, tries to sway its audience to a particular point of view, it is engaging in an “influence operation.” Ever since someone put a chisel to a clay tablet or pen to paper the aim has been influence. But it’s never called an “operation” unless it’s to smear anti-Establishment journalism as an “intelligence operation” directed by a hostile, foreign power.

Fake Editors

“Jake Sullivan” from the now shutdown website PeaceData.

Though the Times says PeaceData hired “real Americans” to write for it, it also says the site “used personas with computer-generated images to create what looked like a legitimate news organization.”

PeaceData’s editors and contributors were listed with headshots before the site was abruptly shut down on Friday. Graphika contends their photos were computer-generated composites: “Graphika analyzed these profile pictures and concluded with high confidence that all six were created by the form of artificial intelligence known as Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN).”

Business Insider, which concludes Sullivan is not a real person, says it tried to contact him and received no reply. It claims that Sullivan’s image found on PeaceData’s site appears nowhere else on the internet except as a “customer” rating a Russian shipping company.

A TinEye reverse search by Consortium News turned up no examples of Sullivan’s PeaceData picture on the internet.

The Business Insider article contains a purported interview with an American freelancer who says he’s shocked to learn he’s been duped by the Russians. The writer’s name is not revealed and he is identified only as “John,” making it impossible to verify the authenticity of the interview.

It would be highly unethical behavior that should be condemned if indeed made-up persons posing as editors and contributors were presented to the public by whoever ran PeaceData.

It is disturbing and unacceptable if “Jake Sullivan” is not a real person, as well as if a publication is secretly financed — by anyone. Hiding the owners’ identity did not preserve credibility but undermined it by opening themselves to the U.S. intelligence-initiated attack.

In the end, the content of the website’s articles should be judged on their own merits.

“John” never said he was directed what to write about and said his articles were lightly edited. The Business Insider interviewer, Charles Davis, suggests almost insidiously to “John” that 80 percent of Peace Data’s content are genuinely progressive articles, while the rest is inserted as propaganda.

Davis tells “John”: “I’m going to speculate here, but sometimes [these sites] publish completely legit, solidly progressive commentary – 80% of it could be legit – and then there’s like that 20% that is ‘and this is why we must defend [Syrian dictator] Bashar al-Assad.’”

Here is the brief response that PeaceData published to the allegations against it on Wednesday:

“On September 1, 2020 The New York Times, Reuters, CNN and other corporate media sources published the articles slandering our independent news site and our authors. These articles claimed that PD is a Russian propaganda tool.

We’re shocked and appalled! We can proudly say that it’s an ugly lie. Our news site is created by the people and for the people to spread the word about peace and expose greedy corporate powers and warmongers all over the world. We’re convinced that corporate media and their puppet masters want to destroy our journalism and shut us up forever for speaking truth about them. Don’t believe a single word from them. They hate truth and want it to disappear. We won’t allow them to do it.”

Later on Wednesday PeaceData published a more lengthy rebuttal.

Limited Reach

The very small reach this website had also raises questions about why it was given so much attention by the NSA, the FBI and corporate media as a “threat” to national security.

“Despite their targeted efforts at audience building, they failed to gain significant traction, measured in likes, shares, and comments. Most of the network’s English-language posts achieved single-digit engagement figures,” Graphika said.

This is what the FBI calls a threat to American democracy.

Progressive views may be a threat to the Establishment but not to the security of the nation, which the Establishment continuously confuses itself with.

It may have been a shock to “John” to find out who his real employers may have been, but it had no bearing on the publication of his articles. If “John” is a real person, he appears to have succumbed to the relentless campaign to denigrate journalism (even his own) that critiques both Establishment wings as being part of a “foreign influence campaign.”

The Establishment does not want to be criticized. To protect itself, it deems legitimate criticism as being controlled by a hostile foreign power intent on undermining “democracy” — the name the Establishment gives to the lucrative game it plays and urgently needs to keep going amid growing social unrest in the United States.

This appears to have been yet another example of Establishment actors trying to deprive agency from dissident journalism in the United States, as if dissenting American writers cannot come to positions critical of the U.S. on their own.

The Times says PeaceData was “set up to look like a left-wing website.” In fact, regardless of who ran it, it is a left-wing website of the sort that questions both major parties.  As it lied outside Establishment circles, it was marginalized and depicted as a destabilizing instrument of a foreign power by an Establishment media that thinks it alone possess the truth and the correct perspective.

Ominously, the Times ends its report warning that unnamed “researchers are also concerned about homegrown disinformation campaigns, and the latest Russian effort went to some lengths to appear like it was made in the United States.”

The takedown of PeaceData worryingly may be a pretext to go after legitimate “homegrown” media as “disinformation campaigns” if they do not conform to the Establishment narrative.

Sympathy for the Devil, Part Two
The Amalek Effect

SCOTT RITTER

Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel

“You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible. And we do remember.” - Benjamin Netanyahu

The Seed of Amalek

Please allow me to introduce myself…

January 29, 2024

The Israeli defense force (IDF) had for days been engaged in heavy combat with Hamas fighters throughout Gaza City. To help differentiate between combatants and non-combatants, the IDF ordered parts of Gaza City to evacuate. Bashar Hamada loaded his wife and three children, along with two cousins—15-year-old Layan Hamada and 6-year-old Hind Rajab—into his black Kia Picanto and began to drive south, to safety.

At around 1.30 pm, as he entered a roundabout in the suburb of Tel al-Hawa, the Kia Bashar was driving came under fire from Israeli tanks which had taken up positions around the roundabout. Bashar, his wife and three children were killed. In the backseat, Layan and Hind lay wounded, covered in blood.

Shortly after the shooting stopped, Layan found her uncle’s phone, and placed a call to an uncle in Gaza, informing him that Bashar and his immediate family were dead. The quality of the connection was poor, and the uncle hung up and called relatives in Germany, who contacted the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PCRS), notifying them of the incident, before reaching out directly to Layan.

Scott will discuss this article and answer audience questions on Ep. 149 of Ask the Inspector.

“Layan,” Mohammed Salem Hamada, the relative in Germany who placed the call later recounted, “told me that her father and my aunt—her mother is my aunt—were shot and they are all dead. She said the IDF [Israel Defense Forces] soldiers were shooting them and she also told me that the tanks are getting closer to them.

Layan explained that she had been shot in the leg, as had 6-year-old Hind. Layan told Mohammed that “she didn’t know how bad the injury or injuries were because she was covered—all of them were covered—in blood.”

Layan then handed the phone to Hind, who told Mohammed “Please help me. Please come and rescue us. Rescue me.”

Mohammed broke down. “I was literally crying because I was unable to do anything, and I think all of my family were in the same situation.”

His wife took the phone away from the sobbing man. “Sweetheart,” she told Hind, “don’t be scared, God loves you and he will take care of you.”

“Ok,” Hind replied, quietly.

At around 2:40 pm, a representative from the PRCS contacted Layan.

Layan answered the phone. “Hello?”

“Hello dear,” the operator responded.

“They are shooting at us,” Layan said. “The tank is next to me.”

“Are you hiding?” the operator asked.

“Yes,” Layan replied, “In the car. We are next to the tank.”

The conversation was interrupted by the sounds of gunfire, and the screams of 15-year-old Layan as she was shot to death by Israeli soldiers.

A few minutes later the PCRS operator called the number again.

Six-year-old Hind answered.

“I am so scared,” Hind said. “Please come. Call someone to come get me, please.”

“Shall we recite a verse from the Quran together?” the operator asked, trying to calm the little girl down. “We can recite some verses and say some prayers. What do you think?”

Hind responded by reciting a passage from the Quran.

“Good job,” the operator replied. “You have it memorized.”

“Please get me out of here,” Hind said, but the operator could not understand her.

“What was that you said, my dear?”

“Please get me out of here,” Hind repeated.

Hind Rajab

The PCRS was frantically trying to coordinate with the IDF to get permission to dispatch an ambulance to the scene to rescue Hind. Around 4.30 pm, permission was finally received, and after agreeing upon the route the rescuers would take (the Israelis provided the PCRS with a map showing the route), an ambulance and two paramedics—Yusuf Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun, departed, heading to the Tel al-Hawa roundabout.

To help calm Hind, the PCRS operator connected the young girl with her mother.

“I miss you, Mama,” Hind told her mother.

The mother tried to calm her, but as the medics closed in on the site, the PCRS operator took over the call, to guide the rescuers to her.

Hind’s last words to her mother were “Don’t leave me, mama. I’m hungry. I’m hurt.”

The operator asked about the status of the other passengers in the vehicle.

“I’m telling you they’re dead,” Hind replied.

Around 6 pm, Yusuf Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun arrived at the scene, inching there way forward, toward the black Kia, which was in sight. “I’m nearly there,” Zeino told the PCRS dispatcher.

“The tank is next to me,” Hind told the PCRS operator. The fear in her voice was palpable. “It’s coming towards me.”

In a devastating ending Palestine Red Crescent team members Yusuf Zeino and Ahmed Al-Madhoun were killed in their ambulance on their approved mission to rescue 6-year-old Hind.

Yusuf Zeino (left) and Ahmed al-Madhoun (right)

Zeino reported that the Israelis were targeting them with laser sights, the green dots dancing around their bodies and the ambulance.

“It’s very, very close,” Hind said, her voice a whisper. “Come and take me.”

At that moment, the sound of gunfire and explosion erupted from the phone held by the PRCS operator, before the line went dead.

Yusuf Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun were killed by a tank round which blew up the ambulance they were riding in.

Hind Rajab was killed by a final burst of machine gun fire.

Given the scope and scale of Israeli intelligence collection taking place in Gaza, there can be no doubt that the IDF was monitoring the phones used by Hind, the medics, and the PRCS.

They heard young Hind’s pleas for help.

They heard the rescuers arrive on the scene.

And they murdered them in cold blood.

There is a video that has been posted online by an Israeli journalist, Yinon Magal, showing Israeli soldiers dancing arm in arm, chanting, “I stick by one mitvah [note: a ‘good dead’ which has a practical benefit for the person who does them as well as for the entire world], to wipe off the seed of Amalek.” The soldiers then continue. “We know our slogan, ‘there are no uninvolved civilians in Gaza.’”

The “seed of Amalek” had to be destroyed.

And so young Hind Rajab was murdered, together with six members of the extended family, and two brave paramedics who were dispatched to save her.

Samuel, Israel’s last Judge

The False Prophet

“I watched in glee while your Kings and Queens fought for ten decades over the God’s they made…”

It was literally a deal with the devil.

Hannah, the first wife of Elkanah, was barren. Her inability to mother a child was a source of great emotional duress for her. During her family’s annual pilgrimage to Shiloh, the sight of the tent tabernacle of Moses, where the Ark of the Covenant was housed, Hannah prayed at the entrance to the sanctuary for God to bless her with a child.

Eli, the High Priest of Shiloh and the Judge, or spiritual leader, of the Jewish people, overheard Hannah’s prayers, and questioned her reasons for praying so. After hearing Hannah’s pleas, Eli told her, “Go in peace and may the God of Israel give you what you have asked him for.”

Hannah became pregnant, and gave birth to a son, whom she named Samuel. Hannah took Samuel to Shiloh, where she turned him over to Eli to be raised as a holy person.

The Book of Samuel, in the Old Testament, lays out the story of Samuel’s birth and how he found himself in the service of Eli in riveting detail. There is one problem, however—it is a false narrative.

Eli watching Hannah pray to God for a child at the Tabernacle in Shiloh

The Old Testament portrays Shiloh as a religious site of great sanctity and import, where the tabernacle of Moses had been in place for centuries. Those charged with overseeing the Tabernacle where the Ark was kept were exclusively drawn from the lineage of Moses, and in particular his son, Aaron.

The problem is that Shiloh was not the original site of the Tabernacle. And herein lies the source of controversy. According to the Jewish Torah, the original site of the Tabernacle was Mount Ebal, near modern day Nablus. And yet the Jewish Torah provides no understanding about how and why the Tabernacle was moved to Shiloh.

There is, however, a text known as the Samaritan Pentateuch, which Samaritans and historians believe pre-dates the Jewish Torah and, as such, should be considered the authority on certain matters, such as the location of the original Tabernacle, which the Samaritans hold to be Mount Gerizim, a height located adjacent to Mount Ebal. And, unlike the Jews, the Samaritans have a vivid story about how the Tabernacle was moved from its place of origin (Mount Gerizm) to Shiloh—Eli did it.

According to the Samaritans, Eli, at the time a relatively young man of 50, carried out a coup of sorts against the High Priest of the Tabernacle, Uzzi ben Bukki. After conducting sacrifices and burnt offerings in violation of religious law (such as burning the meat without salt), Eli was excommunicated. In a pique of anger, Eli—who at the time served as the temple treasurer and had in his possession the wealth of the Tabernacle—lured away a sizeable number of Jews, taking them and the Ark of the Covenant to Shiloh, where he established a new Tabernacle.

Eli allowed his two sons to desecrate the Tabernacle—they got drunk, stole offerings from the faithful, and had sex with the virgin women who served the Tabernacle. According to the Jewish Torah, God cursed Eli and his sons. The sons were defeated in battle with the Philistines, during which time they lost control of the Ark of the Covenant, which they had carried into battle to boost the morale of the Israelites. Upon learning of his son’s deaths, Eli too expired.

Samuel, the son of Hannah, took over as the High Priest of Shiloh.

But there was a problem—Samuel comes from the tribe of Ephraim, and as such is prohibited from serving as a High Priest, or Judge, of Israel.

The Jewish Torah attempts to overcome this issue by reconstructing an obviously false lineage for Samuel—part of the same biblical re-write that moves the Tabernacle from Gerizm to Ebal, and from Ebal to Shiloh, without adequate explanation.

How does this relate to Amalek?

In the Book of Samuel, it is Samuel who oversees the transfer of religious authority from the Judges to the Kings—at the insistence of the people, not the command of God. And it is to Saul, the first Hebrew King, that Samuel, claiming to be speaking on behalf of God, commands Saul to kill every person in Amalek, a rival nation to ancient Israel.

“This is what the Lord Almighty says,” Samuel tells Saul. “‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”

This is the biblical reference which Benjamin Netanyahu drew upon when he exhorted Israel to “remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible.”

And this is the passage that the dancing IDF soldiers base their mitvah on.

How so very religious of them all.

But when Samuel spoke to Saul, he was not speaking the words of God, but the words of an usurper, a false prophet who had inherited a corrupted Tabernacle from a fallen priest.

God did not order Saul to kill the Amalekites.

Samuel did.

And Samuel couldn’t speak on behalf of God.

Because he was not an anointed priest.

And what else does the Bible say about Samuel?

After Samuel’s passing, King Saul sought to draw upon his wisdom regarding a looming battle. Instead of praying to God, however, Saul sought out a witch in Endor. She summoned the ghost of Samuel, who then prophesized Saul’s death in battle.

The Witch of Endor summons the ghost of Samuel at the request of Saul

But heaven cannot be violated by the incantations of a witch; the spirit the witch of Endor summoned was not of God, but rather from Satan, a demon—suggesting that Samuel, like Eli before him, had been a servant of the Devil from the start.

Tawûsî Melek works in mysterious ways…

For the sake of Ten

“I rode a tank, held a general’s rank when the Blitzkrieg raged, and the bodies stank…”

On November 3, 2023, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu penned a letter to Israeli officers and troops serving in Gaza. “The basis of the existence of the thousand-year-old nation of Israel is the constant struggle for our lives and freedom,” Netanyahu wrote. “The current fight against the ‘Hamas’ murderers is another chapter in the story,” he added, extoling the soldiers to ‘Remember what Amalek did to you,’” before concluding that “This is a war between the sons of light and the sons of darkness.”

Netanyahu’s words, which were clear instructions that were picked up and acted upon by the soldiers he addressed, introduced a sense of moral righteousness to the Israeli cause, appealing to religion and tradition to attack those who might otherwise question the legitimacy of their actions.

The Palestinian people were reduced to nothing more than the “seed of Amalek,” to quote Israeli soldiers inflamed by Netanyahu’s exhortations to violence. And Israeli retribution will be, literally, biblical in nature, a conflict of the bible, justified by the Bible, and as such righteous in the eyes of God.

Yoav Gallant, the Israeli Minister of Defense. Advocate of total war. "Treat Palestinians like human animals."

Shortly after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, the Israeli Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, has likened the modern-day “seed of Amalek” (the citizens of Gaza) to animals. “[Israel is] imposing a complete siege on Gaza,” Gallant said. “No electricity, no food, no water, no fuel. Everything is closed. We are fighting human animals, and we are acting accordingly.”

Gallant’s words were echoed by Maj. Gen. Ghassan Alian, the Israeli Army Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT). “Human animals,” he said, “are dealt with accordingly. Israel has imposed a total blockade on Gaza, no electricity, no water, just damage. You wanted hell, you will get hell.”

Starvation became another weapon to be wielded against the civilians of Gaza by the Israelis in their biblical quest to impose genocidal “justice” on those they deemed the “seed of Amalek.”

On February 28, 2024, Carl Skau, the deputy executive director of the World Food Program, informed the United Nations Security Council that more than 500,000 people were at risk of starvation in Gaza.

The next day, February 29, a food convoy that had been organized by Palestinian businessmen, and coordinated with COGAT, arrived in northern Gaza. As crowds of starving Gazans gathered around the trucks, the IDF opened fire on them, precipitating a stampede as desperate survivors tried to escape. At least 118 people were killed and 760 injured in what has become known as “the flour massacre.”

A destroyed World Central Kitchen vehicle in Gaza.

To help combat the scourge of starvation, celebrity chef Jose Andres dispatched members of his non-governmental organization, World Central Kitchen (WCK) to Gaza, where they established two main kitchens—one in the southern city of Rafah and another in the central town of Deir al-Balah, which served more than 170,000 hot meals daily to Palestinians. Up until April 1, 2024, WCK had provided over 43 million meals to the starving citizens of Gaza.

“Human animals,” however, cannot be allowed to eat.

Prior to April 1, the IDF had killed more than 200 aid workers in Gaza. Most of these workers, however, were Palestinian, and their deaths were soon forgotten, just another statistic in a conflict that had killed more than 33,000 Gazan civilians since it began.

On April 1, 2024, a three-vehicle WCK convoy departed the Gazan town of Deir al-Balah, having dropped off food supplies that had just arrived from Cyprus. Riding in the vehicles were an Australian, Zomi Frankcom, a Pole, Damian Soból, a dual US-Canadian, Jacob Flickenger, a Palestinian, Saif Issam Abu Taha, and three British citizens, John Chapman, James Henderson, and James Kirby. The convoy was driving along a route that had been cleared by the IDF.

But “human animals” cannot be allowed to eat.

Shortly after departing the Deir al-Balah warehouse, the convoy was tracked by an armed Israeli drone, which proceeded to fire a missile into the lead WCK vehicle. Survivors from that vehicle evacuated to a second WCK vehicle, which then, together with the third vehicle, fled the scene, only to be struck by a missile fired from the Israeli drone. Once again, survivors were loaded into the last WCK vehicle, which was in turn struck and destroyed by a third missile fired by the Israeli drone.

All seven WCK employees were killed.

One of the immediate consequences of the attack was that ships carrying aid to Gaza, including food, turned around, their respective organizations having concluded that the security situation in Gaza was too dangerous for continued operations.

The Israelis investigated the attack and concluded that the drone operators had not been told by their command about the WCK convoy due to “internal failures that led to critical information regarding the humanitarian’s operation to not go properly down through the chain of command.”

The Israelis contend that they had assessed that the convoy contained one or more armed Hamas operatives.

As a result of the investigation, the Israelis fired a major and a colonel in reserve who were responsible for coordinating the drone strike. Three other IDF officials were formally reprimanded: the commanders of the brigade and division involved, and the commander of the Southern Command, who, according to the Israelis, bore “overall responsibility” for an operation which the Israelis claim was carried out in “serious violation of the commands and IDF Standard Operating Procedures.”

This is the same Israeli command which allowed Hind Rajab and her family to be murdered and used Hind as bait to lure in two Palestinian paramedics so they, too, could be killed.

Because the “seed of Amalek” must be destroyed.

The same Israeli command that has given Israeli snipers the green light to kill a mother who was trying to cross the street, hand in hand with her young son, waving a white flag.

Because the “seed of Amalek” must be destroyed.

The same Israeli command behind the genocidal policies which have left more than 33,000 Palestinian civilians dead, including more than 15,000 children.

Because the “seed of Amalek” must be destroyed.

The attack on the WCK convoy was no accident.

The IDF knew who they were, and what they were doing, when the order to fire the missiles was given to the Israeli drone crew.

“Human animals” cannot be allowed to eat.

Because the “seed of Amalek” must be destroyed.

Amalek, however, is not the word of God.

Amalek is the product of a man—and people—who walked away from the God of Abraham, people who followed the corrupted priest, Eli, to Shiloh, and in doing so destroyed the integrity of Moses’ Tabernacle.

Amalek is the byproduct of Eli’s deal with the devil, which spawned Samual, a false prophet, who encouraged Saul, a false king, to commit murder.

Amalek is the devil’s doing, the manifestation of evil.

Amalek is genocide.

Samuel slays King Agag

There is a postscript to the story of Amalek.

Saul, obedient to the instructions of Samuel, gathered the Israeli army and marched against the Amalekites. Saul, however, decides to defy Samuel, and the Amalekite king, Agag, some members of his family, and the choicest flocks and herds.

Upon learning of Saul’s betrayal, Samuel denounces him, and has Agag brought before him, where Samuel hacks him to death with a sword, exclaiming, “Just as your sword bereaved women, so shall your mother be bereaved among women.”

Saul’s incomplete genocide, however, allowed the “seed of Amalek” to survive, and later, during the Jewish period of Babylonian captivity, this seed, in the form of Haman, an “Agagite” who advised the King of Babylon, conspired to exterminate the Jewish people. Esther, a Jewish girl who had married the King of Babylon, outwitted Haman, turning the tables on him. Instead, Haman is hung, along with 500 followers and 10 of Haman’s sons. Throughout Persia, the Jewish people rise and kill 75,000 of Haman’s followers.

The “seed of Amalek” was destroyed, and Samuel’s directive to Saul fulfilled.

The murder of Haman and his followers—the “seed of Amalek”—is celebrated every year by the Jewish faithful as the holiday of Purim.

There is, however, no greater perversion of the notion of biblical justice than the promotion of the idea that God would forsake those whom he created in his image, that genocide and justice would—or indeed could—become synonymous in the eyes of God.

Abraham pleads for the people of Sodom and Gommorah

The Bible itself provides proof of this, in the book of Genesis. Abraham, the patriarch of God’s special relationship with the Jewish people, has been promised a son by God. Given Abraham’s status as the leader of his people, God, who has decided to punish the citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah for forsaking him, asks, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?”

God informs Abraham, ‘The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so grievous that I will go down and see if what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached me. If not, I will know.’”

Upon learning of the horrible fate that was to befall Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham turns to God and beseeches him, “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked? What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare[e] the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it? Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

God responded, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.”

Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes, what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?”

“If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”

Once again, he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?”

He said, “For the sake of forty, I will not do it.”

Then he said: “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?”

He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”

Abraham said“Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?”

He said, “For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.”

Then he said: “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?”

He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”

Israel has long ago lost its moral compass—if, indeed, it ever had one.

The Jewish faith has been poisoned by the celebrated genocide of the Amalekites, either through the incomplete slaughter of King Agag and his people, or the final murderous rampage carried out by Esther and the Jews of Babylon, which is celebrated during Purim.

Genocide is evil.

Evil is the work of Satan.

Righteous people, such as Abraham, would have implored those ordering the genocide of the Gazan civilians to forego this slaughter for the sake of “ten righteous persons.”

And yet Israel could not, in its collective heart, find ten such examples.

I can give you fourteen off the top of my head: Bashar Hamada, his wife, his three children, Layan Hamada, Hind Rajab, Yusuf Zeino, Ahmed al-Madhoun, Zomi Frankcom, Damian Soból, Jacob Flickenger, Saif Issam Abu Taha, John Chapman, James Henderson, and James Kirby.

Their stories have been recounted here.

There are 33,000 other righteous persons who have fallen victim to the evil of modern Israel.

And more than 1.6 million others whose lives are threatened daily by a government which exhorts its citizens to “never forget” Amalek.

“Let me please introduce myself

I'm a man of wealth and taste

And I laid traps for troubadours

Who get killed before they reach Bombay.”

The syncopation of The Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil” stirs up visceral feelings to this day, feelings that were aroused back when I had my initial encounter with Tawûsî Melek, the Golden Peacock, on the top of the Sinjar Mountains of Iraq back in October 1993.

From that meeting I learned to recognize evil in all its manifestations.

And in looking at Israel today, I see nothing but evil. From the head (Netanyahu) to the toe (the Israeli soldiers chanting their mitvah regarding Amalek), Zionist Israel reeks of Satan’s labors, a nation so blinded by hatred that it could find in its darkened heart the ability to walk along the path of Abraham and find ten righteous persons so that the sword of vengeance and punishment could be stayed.

Instead, Israel has become a nation that embraces the genocidal ideology of Amalek, the desire to “put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys,” and to eradicate any “seed” which might survive.

Israel is a nation of hate.

Israel is evil.

And, unlike the protagonist in The Rolling Stones’ song, Israel deserves no sympathy.

Neo-Nazi ideology has become one of the main protagonists of political and social life in Ukraine since the 2014 coup d'état. And that's a fact.

What Is Fascism?

How Fascism Serves Capitalism And How It Permeates The West Today

There have been many academics, journalists and others who have tried to define what Fascism is but the vast majority have made the intellectually fatal mistake of describing the surface phenomena produced by Fascism in cultural terms rather than starting with its underlying political-economic drivers. Fascism can be quite fluid with respect to its surface phenomena, creating a slippery creature that evades easy or even stable definition; its surfacing in such places as Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, Japan, Argentina and many other Latin American nations, as well as the deeply memory-holed US example under President Wilson during the period 1917-1920, produced quite heterogeneous examples.

When we move beyond the surface criteria so loved and thrashed nearly to death by the careerist and co-opted Western”critical” theorists and ruling class organic intellectuals, to eye the political economy of Fascism, its definition becomes much easier. As Gramsci noted, the capitalist ruling class much prefer to dominate society through a “democracy” under which they control the state and the consent of the people is manufactured through a cultural hegemony that both legitimizes their rule while obfuscating the nature of that rule. The tools of coercion (e.g. the need for people to work to support their families) and outright violence (e.g. incarceration) are always there to lend support to the cultural hegemony. Bourgeois democracy is an efficient way to manage a modern industrialized capitalist economy, given the required literacy and geographical mobility of the population.

It is only when the capitalist ruling class is threatened from within (a collapse of capitalist profitability) and another solution is not found (such as the New Dealcompromise in the US or the “Nationalist” UK governments that co-opted the right-wing labour leaders), or when a successful cultural hegemonic project of the masses threatens to take power, that Fascism emerges. Daniel Guerin, in his 1936 book Fascism and Big Business notes the vulnerability of high capital investment / high fixed cost businesses to a collapses in profitability, and identifies them as the main funders and supporters of Fascism in both Italy and Germany in the inter-world war period. The same can be said of Portugal in 1933 (the Estado Novo), and Austria in the same year (the Fatherland Front), and Greece in 1934 (Metaxism); as with Italy and Germany, mainly a response to a crisis of profitability. Spain was a more complex affair, as a competing hegemonic class project was successful in gaining power through electoral means in 1936 within the Second Spanish Republic. The ruling class reaction was an attempted coup that lead to a civil war of 1936-1939, heavily supported by the fascist states of Portugal, Italy and Germany whilst the supposedly “democratic” Western states stood aside; the latter preferred Fascism to a republic with significant power in the hands of the general populace. The earlier 1917-1920 US period of Fascism was brought about by the need to drag the unwilling US population into WW1 to protect the big business and financial interests who would be exposed to German victory or a negotiated stalemate (the Russian revolution had begun in February 1917). Hochschild very well describes the fascist nature of the regime that President Wilson implemented, including the 250,000 strong American Protective League of state-sponsored thugs, but in American Midnight: The Great War, a Violent Peace, and Democracy's Forgotten Crisis the actual word is never mentioned; as that would be an unacceptable level of truth telling even a century after the event.

To describe the main functions of the fascist state the following will use the 2023 twenty-second printing of the English version of Guerin’s book, as it provides one of the most direct and forthright descriptions of Fascism. As Guerin notes, “the state has always been the instrument by which one social class rules over the other social classes” (p. 25). When a crisis threatens profitability the state must be changed in character:

the bourgeoisie can only see one way to restore its profits: it empties the pockets of the people down to the last centime … brutal slashing of wages and social expenditures, raising of tariff duties at the expense of the consumer etc. The state, furthermore, rescues business enterprises on the brink of bankruptcy, forcing the masses to foot the bill. Such enterprises are kept alive with subsidies , tax exemptions, orders for public works and armaments. (pp. 27-28).

Does that sound a lot like the period from the mid-1970s to the present? Are we currently living under a form of Fascism which is skillfully hidden behind propaganda? Guerin identifies the importance of freedom of the press, universal suffrage, and an organized working class as restricting such actions under bourgeois “fake” democracy, but have those been nullified within the present? Are we living in an Inverted Totalitarianism as Wolin put it? I will return to that topic later.

Guerin notes that the capitalist ruling class is not homogeneous, and it is the capital investment intensive industries such as iron and steel and mining (also the large agricultural landowners), together with their bankers, which are most exposed to falling profitability. Guerin could not have imagined the peace-time scale of the US Military Industrial Complex, nor the rise of transnational corporations that rely upon the ability to manage global supply chains, having their much-expanded intellectual property rights respected abroad and the ability to ward off challengers. In addition to an incredibly concentrated and leveraged financial sector. Creating a much larger group supportive of foreign wars and a disciplining of the population both at home and abroad, while being resistant to tariffs that threaten their extensive global supply chains. Light industry, that relies much more on mass consumption is dependent upon the masses to consume their products and therefore too tough a level of austerity for the masses threatens their profitability. It is exactly this group that was central to the class compromise of the New Deal, but increasing foreign competition in the US domestic market, and the ability to offshore, from the 1970s onwards has altered the calculus for such light industry in the present.

For the Italian heavy industrialists the crisis arrived with the post-WW1 peace, as “war orders ceased overnight, the domestic market vanished, and the established foreign outlets disappeared” (p. 39). Mussolini’s movement was increasingly funded by these capitalist elements, and the other parts of the ruling class were unwilling to intervene against Mussolini’s movement as that could create a ruling class fracture that could threaten overall class interests. In addition, some of the light industrial interests had taken stakes in heavy industry, widening the support for Fascism. They funded Mussolini’s march on the capital and facilitated his taking of power. In the immediate post-WW1 period in Germany, the ruling class fought off a revolution with the help of the “volunteer militias” (the Freikorps) that they paid to crush it. One of these militias became the National Socialist Party lead by Hitler, and they were financed enough to keep them from disappearing during the 1920s (e.g. by the heavy industrialist Thyssen). They were kept as a reserve option, as German heavy industry greatly benefitted from foreign capital that enabled both an upgrading and expansion of capacity; especially after the Dawes Plan stabilized the German currency. But this ended in catastrophe with the 1929 crash and then the Credit-Anstalt banking collapse of 1931. Both the great industrialists and the large landowners now needed the state to help both smash the unions and to financially rescue them. They needed to change the nature of the state from limited class collaboration to Fascism, and the funding and support for Hitler’s movement rapidly escalated. As with the Italian light industry interests before them, the capitalist elites opposed to the National Socialists understood that “the general interests of the owning classes forbade that ‘national’ forces tear each other to pieces” and Hitler was anointed Chancellor by the German ruling class (he was never elected as such by the people as is so often erroneously stated).

As noted by Guerin the middle class “are prevented by their heterogeneity and their position between the two fundamental classes of society - the bourgeoisie and the proletariat - from having a political policy of their own’” (p. 60) Without a counter-hegemonic project that can reach out to the middle class and construct a larger coalition against the ruling class, it is possible for them to be co-opted by the ruling class with right-wing parties that blame unions and Others, as well as falsely claiming to be anti-capitalist and anti-statist (an excellent current example is that of Milei in Argentina, others being Meloni in Italy and the right-wing parties in Greece after the failure of Syriza); the middle class become Fascism’s mass base.

With respect to the youth, Guerin makes a statement about the inter-war years that could have been written about the present:

the lot of the young bourgeois (or petty bourgeois) and young proletarian was almost identical: all young people, without distinction, were victimized by the crisis … As a result of the economic crisis, the position of the intellectual and student youth became more precarious. Their particular ‘aspirations’ were thereby intensified. (p. 78)

And sadly also:

But the socialist movement did not show itself revolutionary and ceased to be a pole of attraction. It was fascism, playing skillfully on the youth mystique, which won over not only the intellectual youth, but also - what was far more serious - many declassed unemployed youth. (p. 79)

Guerin also notes that “fascism recruits a certain number of outcasts from the working class … the lumpenproletariat”. With the destruction of the trade unions outside of the state in many Western nations, and the precarious individualized nature of so many jobs that lack any form of group solidarity, this breeding ground for Fascism is very significant in the present day. The middle class, the youth and the lumpenproletariat are prevalent within both the Brazilian right-wing parties and the Milei base.

To hold together such a diverse coalition of forces, Fascism relies on a vague mysticism to arouse faith rather than intelligence.

A party supported by the subsidies of the propertied classes, with the secret aim of defending the privileges of property owners, is not interested in appealing to the intelligence of its recruits; or rather, it considers it prudent not to appeal to their understanding until they have been thoroughly bewitched. The moment the faithful believe, nothing is easier than to play with truth and logic … Thus fascism presents itself, above all, and even before trying to define itself, as a religion. (p. 86)

This use of propaganda was nothing new, as the British and Americans greatly developed this during WW1 - with the power of images over words, feelings over thoughts.

The post-WW2 alignment of the US right wing with religious figures who were against the Social Gospel that supported the New Deal, to create a new Prosperity Gospelthat turned support for capitalism into a matter of faith comes to mind. Also, the manipulation of the Scofield Bible to increasingly support the state of Israel. In the present, the average citizen is surrounded by propaganda throughout the day at a level far above that of the inter-wars years as they are connected to media delivery devices continuously. With increasing attempts to shut down those individuals, and those platforms, that do not follow the required messaging.

Within this mysticism is The Man of Destiny, created by the propagandists funded with ruling class money. His image will never be allowed to be tarnished by the actual policies and real personal history. Does not the cult of Obama fit with the Man of Destiny? A man whose path in life was carefully groomed and lubricated, with a meteoric political rise, who perfectly served the ruling elite instead of the people throughout his two terms? The man who told the bankers that he was there to protect them against the avenging people, who ramped up covert operations and the surveillance state, who prosecuted whistleblowers but not war criminals and torturers, destroyed Libya and Syria, remained in Afghanistan and Iraq, and turned the hope of real healthcare reform into a new massive capitalist subsidy program? Of course Trump is attempting to also fill that role, but his Man of Destiny project is spoiled by the resistance of the Mainstream Media. In the same way that TikTok has undermined the Israeli Nation of Destiny project.

The fascist party must also exude a fake anti-capitalist message, so that it can claim to provide answers to their material interests. It is a “demagogic anti-capitalism … a utopian and harmless anti-capitalism” (pp. 105-106) that helps turn the population away from genuine socialism.

Fascism’s game is to call itself anti-capitalist without seriously attacking capitalism. It first endeavours to transmute anti-capitalism of the masses into nationalism … In all periods as we have seen, the hostility of the middle classes towards big capital is accompanied by tenacious attachment to the idea of the nation … Hence fascism has no difficulty in shielding its financial backers from popular anger by diverting the anti-capitalism of the masses to the “international plutocracy.” (p. 106)

Is this not exactly what Trump does with his spurious Make America Great Again which much more blames the Chinese for America’s ills than the actions of the US ruling class and its corporate underlings to outsource, offshore, and close down so much of America’s productive capabilities while crushing the unions? The very notion of being unAmerican reeks of such fascist ideology.

In Germany, the National Socialists also successfully transmuted a general anti-capitalism into a more specific anti-semitism, but that was not an option in an Italy with a very small Jewish population; and of course in the present. Instead there is a building anti-Chinese orientation, as wall as extreme Russophobia and of course an Othering of everything Moslem. In the fascist Hindutva of India, Moslems replace Jews as the Othered dehumanized group, as with Zionism.

There may be much rhetoric about disciplining business, or even breaking up or nationalizing businesses, but once in power such promises are quickly forgotten as they would displease the backers of the fascists. After gaining power both Mussolini and Hitler went through a process of cleansing their parties of the most radical elements that threatened the ruling class interests as well as disarming party members by replacing their security functions with the police and the military. In Germany this included the Night of the Long Knives of 1934 where the leadership of the Nazi brownshirts (the SA) were executed. Instead of disciplining business, the fascists disciplined the workers and the state to serve the interests of their business backers as well as their own ends. Only when those ends become problematic for the business backers, as with military expansion far beyond that envisaged by business leaders, did the business backers understand that they had lost control of the state. The profits kept rolling in though, and the vast majority of those business leaders were allowed to keep their wealth in the post-WW2 years while not being prosecuted for their crimes.

In the past five decades the union movement has been crushed (aided by the crushing of the Air Traffic Controllers in the US and the Miners in the UK) in the Anglo-Saxon nations, tamed in the other Western nations, and any so-called socialist parties co-opted. Where socialist interests have been seen to take any leadership, the ruling elite have shown their exceptional ability in removing them; as with the case of Corbyn and the British Labour Party - now lead by a Conservative. The only area in which unions still exist with any degree of power within the AngloSaxon nations is within the state, and they are under increasing pressure. Without the need to crush the unions or socialist parties, there is little need for any “brownshirts” in the Anglo-Saxon nations.

In the past 2-3 years heavily under-reported levels of inflation have in fact allowed business profits to be substantially increased in North America at the expense of the living standards of the many, while public protest has been muted. In the European nations, where unions are much stronger but truly socialist parties have very much disappeared, pressure from the populace has been very much met by the power of the state. As with the heavily militarized reaction to protests within France, who needs brownshirts when you have a police force like the French one?

Western populations have been heavily politically demobilized by an “Inverted Totalitarianism” with the capitalist class taking full control of the state and utilizing many of the tools of Fascism but without needing a mass fascist party; in this way the capitalist class does not risk losing control of the state. The German AfD, with its core in East Germany, espouses an anti-capitalist nationalism and opposition to climate change policies and Muslim immigration, but does not possess a mass brownshirt style movement, as with the French RN. Both could be utilized by the capitalist elite if needed, perhaps in the very much tamed version of of the Italian Meloni and her Brothers of Italy, the organizational descendant of Mussolini’s fascist party. The European capitalist ruling classes may have worked out how to have all the benefits of Fascism without the need for a mass fascist party that takes control of the state from them.

Other than in the instance of an economic crisis that cannot be contained by the capitalist elites, or the implementation of conscription to fight a war the population does not want to fight, we may never see the 1930s style Fascism in Europe again. This may not be the case in Latin America where in the 1970s and 1980s fascist states were used to destroy oppositional forces through murder, torture and intimidation after successful counter-hegemonic projects. Para-military style death squads organized and paid for by the capitalist elite are still a real element in some Latin American countries, such as Colombia. Brown-shirt style groups were also used in the removal of Rousseff and the election of Bolsonaro in the 2010s; with Bolsonaro then destroying much of the social state and further deregulating the economy.

With the continuing deindustrialization of Latin America in the past few decades, and the immiseration of its working classes, we may once again see classic Fascism in Latin America. Bolsonaro may have been replaced with Lula, but that is a Lula reminded of what happens if he strays from ruling class interests and who has to work with a predominantly right-wing legislative assembly. Any economic crisis in the West would be rapidly felt in Brazil and the other Latin American nations through falling commodity prices, pushing the capitalist elite toward a more fascist stance in order to further crush the welfare state and general living standards.

Argentina shows many of the fascist elements as the agricultural and extractive elements aligned with financial interests attempt to destroy and loot the state while driving down general living standards even further. This is a very different constituency to that of the European fascists, as agricultural and extractive industries benefit from free trade policies which inhibit industrial development. Milei has rapidly moved toward authoritarian measures and a love of state power that he vehemently opposed during his elections. His theatrics and stated libertarian anti-statism also appeal to many of the young and the lumpenproletariat, while promising false and vague solutions to the middle class (now experiencing one more event of immiseration at his hands). He lacks a legislative majority though and opposition is rapidly rising within the nation as his policies have already rapidly increased the numbers living in poverty (now nearly 60%); a popular uprising is most definitely a possibility.

In the West we are seeing the state, and the capitalist elite owned media, take on more and more of the policies and orientation of Fascism, but without the need for a fascist party. The current US Democratic government pushes a vague and false anti-capitalist message (especially the fake left of the Party), while using all the functions of the state to quieten and intimidate opposition voices and remove the possibility of the people from voting for the major opposition candidate; at the same time as it doles out protectionist business subsidies, bails out the financial sector, and ramps up anti-China and anti-Russia rhetoric and actions. Very little would change under Trump, apart from the cultural messaging and perhaps less anti-Russia rhetoric.

We see very much the same across the other Western nations, as discussions of the banning of opposition parties are openly carried out (e.g. the AfD in Germany) and those opposing government policies are branded as traitors to the nation and its “shared values” (“Putin lovers”, “terrorist supporters”, “anti-semites”). These states may not fit the 1930s style Fascism, but they are very much, and increasingly, fascist in nature. As with the British Home Secretary calling pro-Palestinian marchers a “hate mob”.

She later had to resign, but the anti-democratic nature of the British government (and the Zionist Conservative leader of the opposition Labour Party), with online speech and political demonstrations being increasingly controlled and criminalized, has remained unchanged. A trend seen across the Western nations. In 2022 in the UK about 3,500 people were prosecuted for online speech, and many, many more visited by the police.

Then of course, we have the ongoing jailing and persecution of the journalist Julian Assange, together with the long prison terms doled out to anyone else attempting to expose state crimes. Together with the disappearing of old uncomfortable facts that parallels the fictional work of Winston Smith. Inverted Totalitarianism serves to depoliticize the masses in the face of attacks against their living standards and civil rights, quite the opposite Fascism. While this can be maintained, and insurrectionary forces shut down by the state and controlled media before they can blossom, a fascist party and its thugs are not necessary.

Neo-Nazi ideology has become one of the main protagonists of political and social life in Ukraine since the 2014 coup d'état. And that's a fact.

THE WORLD THROUGH AN INDEPENDENT LEFT LENS

By Billy Bob

I did a quick elaboration this morning of some related thoughts after learning about a recent terror attack in Pakistan on a Chinese engineering convoy.

The West (aka the capitalist class) is increasingly embracing the tactic of terrorism to attack their rivals and to do their best to keep global development and prosperity from threatening their domination and control.  A Chinese convoy working on a huge infrastructure project in Pakistan was recently attacked, killing five Chinese engineers.  Al Qaeda of course is resurgent and is "all of a sudden" active in Yemen as IS continues to destabilize Afghanistan.  For years now, terrorists have been murdering soft targets including teachers, police, and other civil servants in Myanmar, in order to destabilize that country and deny China the opportunity to bring development and prosperity.  Of course "terrorists" (Western backed proxies) continue to murder in Russia and Iran and as the imperialists find themselves more and more under threat without any viable options, they will turn to terror tactics to a much greater degree than they already do.

I submit that the inculcated conceptualization of autonomous terrorist groups existing and violently pursuing their radical agendas while the West tirelessly works to track them and protect innocent people (you know, the basic understanding of "terrorism" as spread by Hollywood and the State Department on a daily basis) is absolutely false and entirely detached from objective reality.

Terrorism is the tool of the elites.  Those that the West calls "terrorists" but do not actually control (like Hezbollah, the IRGC, and the Houthis) of course are not terrorists at all.  They are popular groups that resist Western imperialism and who fight against Western backed terrorists (like AL Qaeda and IS).

In reality, terrorism is not a spontaneous grassroots uprising of disenfranchised violent "extremists", far from it.  Actual terrorism is a top-down tactic waged against the masses by the wealthy elite.

In a certain sense, "terrorism" is the modern manifestation of the axiom of the billionaire class that (as robber baron Jay Gould aptly asserted) "I can hire one half of the working class to kill the other half."  International terrorism including the nazi variation that exists in Eastern Europe and the Narco Terrorists that exist in Central and South America, are absolutely tools of violence and destabilization used by the elites, in order to destroy legitimate governance, political stability, and economic progress.

So what we have here are two competing conceptualizations of reality.  One is false, entirely disconnected from reality, and existing solely to confuse the masses and perpetuate the status quo.  This is the conceptualization generally known as "liberalism".  The other conceptualization is based on the foundational reality of oppositional class interests and the class struggle that results.  A class struggle that today manifests itself in the struggle against Western imperialism.

We need to recognize and understand that liberalism is an empty and false ideology designed and proliferated for no other reason than to obfuscate the primacy of class struggle and to keep people from accurately comprehending the paradigms that truly drive policies, strategies, and real world events.

Liberalism invents false paradigms and false conceptual frameworks.  Liberalism tells silly dishonest stories (like authoritarianism vs. Democracy, liberal values vs tyranny, rule followers vs. rule breakers etc, etc) in order to disguise reality and pretend that there is no such thing as a global capitalist class that sees the masses as a threat to their interests and who need to be constantly attacked with propaganda, disinformation, mass incarceration, and genocide when necessary.

Meanwhile, the paradigm of class struggle provides the most accurate explanation for why things are as they are.  The lens of class struggle allows the masses to see through the lies of liberalism and to accurately perceive reality as it truly exists. In reality, terrorism is not a spontaneous grassroots uprising of disenfranchised violent "extremists", far from it.

Actual terrorism is a top-down tactic waged against the masses by the wealthy elite.  Alternatively, resistance to elitist exploitation and subjugation, is not terrorism at all.  One must work to do their best to discard their liberal indoctrination in order to know the difference between these entirely different phenomena which liberalism seeks to lie about and manipulate.

About Us

Kitty studious philosopherTHE GREANVILLE POST (TGP) is an antidote to and refuge from the ubiquitous brainwash long afflicting most people in the United States and the rest of the collective West. TGP is an independent, (barely) reader-supported, non-dogmatic publication dedicated to seeking the truth wherever it may be found. Thus, we publish voices from any point in the political spectrum, left, right, up, down, except shitlibs, professional disinformers, media whores, and demagogues of the extreme right. TGP is already heavily shadowbanned; it could be gone tomorrow. That’s the lousy, uber-hypocritical times we inhabit, so read it while you can, and do pass its carefully selected articles to others: friends, kin and workmates. Incidentally, if you can send a donation, do so. For obvious reasons, we do not operate behind a paywall. Defeating the Big Lie is too important and urgent to subject the truth to the test of wallet power.

He does not believe in Western “objectivity”.
