My Regular Mainstream Media Sludge Immersion

I tend to live in an information bubble where I do not read the mainstream press nor watch the mainstream online media. Over the years I have cut myself off from the propagandists and liars, which represent a huge portion of our modern media. This greatly aids my sanity while freeing up much time to actually research, write and generally enjoy life. But now and again I reconnect myself to the flow of mainstream sludge to get an understanding of what the average person is subjected to and propagandized by.

One of the avenues I use is a local coffee and snack place that has copies of Canadian newspapers. Today I subjected myself to the nauseating experience of reading the oligarch, uber-Zionist and uber-willing US vassal rag the National Post. A “Canadian” newspaper owned by the US hedge fund Chatham Asset Management, founded by the billionaire financier Anthony Melchiorre who is close to President Trump. Of the other major Canadian newspapers, The Toronto Star is owned by Canadian billionaire Jordan Bitove and the Globe and Mail by the deca-billionaire Canadian Thomson dynasty who also own Thomson-Reuters. News brought to you by Canadian and US billionaires.

The front page of the National Post does not disappoint, with the lead story being a trashing of the Liberal Party (this is a given for the Post) for being too close to China. With prose such as “the Liberal party’s powerful pro-Beijing comprador caste”, followed by:

Even after nearly a decade of scandals involving China’s [non-existent] Uyghur slave camps, its “hostage diplomacy” [Canada took the first hostage!], mass espionage [nothing compared to the US], intellectual property theft, forced corporate co-ventures, and [fabricated] clandestine election-interference operations, by this summer the Pew Research Centre found that Canadians had come to view China more favourably than the United States.

How dare they not love the master! Then a ridiculous attack on Dominic Barton who has been appointed as the chair of Invest in Canada. Then the prose continues:

There’s no evidence that any distinction will be drawn between foreign direct investment from democracies and dirty money from torture states.

That wonderful use of the word “democracy” to wash away all the crimes of the Western nations! The US is most definitely a torture state that murders wedding parties and fishermen without compunction. Then of course there is the Gulf Cooperation Council medieval monarchies and the Zionist genocide, torture and ethnic cleansing state. The list could go on and on of countries that the National Post would be happy for Canada to accept FDI from. But of course, we know who they mean and the article does not take long to get there; China, Russia and Iran.

Then an article entitled “Key to winning the Canada-U.S. trade war is not retaliating, think tank says”. Given the ownership of the newspaper this should be taken as de facto foreign interference. In any self-respecting country the newspaper would be immediately taken over by the state and moved to Canadian ownership. In a case of classic propaganda-washing, the newspaper refers to a report from the Montreal Economic Institute (MEI), which refuses to name its donors. It is a member of the Atlas Network, a U.S. based organization that funnels oligarch and corporate cash into libertarian think tanks around the world. Its safe to say that the MEI is significantly funded by Canadian and US plutocratic foundations. A classic case of the US oligarchy working with vassal oligarchies to infiltrate courtier organic intellectuals into government policy discussions. Other examples are the Fraser Institute and the MacDonald-Laurier Institute. It goes without saying that the advice provided by the article is utterly ridiculous unless you wish to serve US oligarch interests as a vassal. The article quotes Vincent Geloso from the MEI, fully trained as a vassal intellectual via the London School of Economics, a professorship at George Mason University in the US, and a position in the American Institute for Economic Research. An intellectual Trojan Horse.

Then the article Lawyers seek to block TMU law grads from practising in Ontario. What crime could have been committed by the Toronto Metropolitan University that would need its graduates to be banned from practising law? Of course a scourge of “antisemitism”! The article cites a report from a former judge, Mary Lou Benotto, on alleged antisemitism which was in reality student protestations about the Israeli genocidal, torture and ethnic cleansing policies; including protesting speakers tied to the Israeli Defence Forces. How dare students protest those supporting an ongoing genocide! This is of course the usual conflating of anti-Israel protests with antisemitism.

The paper does actually report on the recent murderous US attack upon an Iranian wedding party, on the back page. With the word “funeral” in quotes, with lots of conditional statements such as “Iranian authorities said” and a quote from the US CENTCOM with no sarcasm “the U.S. military never targets civilians”. The conditional “apparently” is also liberally used. Just below the article are a number of advertisements for Jewish funeral chapels.

Then I watched some segments from CBC The National, which is the main daily state newspropaganda program. “Accusing” is doing a lot of propaganda work here, as well as “reportedly” that is used by the commentator. Then after obligatory “scary Iranian military man” quotes, without mirth the US CENTCOM statement that “The U.S. military never targets civilians, unlike the IRGC”. Yeah just another “unfortunate incident” like that school that got wiped out, or the university gym, or the carpet bombing of Iraq, the napalming of Vietnamese civilians, the nuclear evisceration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the fire bombing of Tokyo and Dresden.

Then the minutes of hate for one of the dastardly “Others”, so the selling of the obvious false flag drone attack at Leipzig airport. Echoes of babies thrown out of incubators, weapons of mass destruction, Gulf of Tonkin, and state security forces packed full of blue pills. With the Canadian PM repeating the extremely coordinated propaganda. With a tiny fraction of time given to the Russian response followed by analysispropaganda about the dastardly Russians by Michael Bociurkiw, identified as a “Global affairs analyst”. Not noted is that he is the son of Ukrainian parents (from Western Ukraine, the centre of OUN activity) and a senior fellow at the NATO-mouthpiece the Atlantic Council. His partisanship is shown in this article. Three minutes of biased reporting followed by over six minutes of unremitting propaganda and Othering of Russia.

The above is the media reality for the general public, no wonder that the younger generation prefer TikTok for their news, with the non-US Big Brother controlled version still allowed in Canada. Just with a lot of incredibly attractive genocidal IDF members always celebrating something, denigrating others and claiming to be victims. Back to that third National Post story. And for me, back to my bubble.
