This episode is especially illuminating in what it says about the news-obstructive work of corporatised drones, deadwood like NBC’s David Gregory, a man who, as Gleen Greenwald notes, never broke a story in his entire life (he is effectively a glorified “news reader” or “presenter”), yet who relies on “credentialism” to denigrate the right of independent media voices such as Greenwald to report on ruling class felonies.
IMPERIALISM

ERIC ZUESSE—History is full of examples of imperial nations that first worked with the aristocracies of their vassal-nations but then increasingly devoured and ultimately destroyed even their cooperating vassal-aristocracies — and even their own nation’s public. In fact, it’s normal in the final stage of all empires. This is an act of desperation by and on behalf of America’s billionaires who are grasping at their last opportunity to continue, for a while longer, their imperial collective enterprise, before it fades forever into history’s dustbin.

BIG SERGE—W
ho is the greatest general in history? The question, while fun to contemplate, is indeed a thorny one, as it presumes that the figure of the “general” takes a consistent form that can be compared fairly across the ages. Upon reflection, this is not immediately obvious. One can hardly imagine Konstantin Rokossovskiĭ or Erich Manstein personally leading the charge of the Macedonian cavalry the way Alexander the Great did – but it is equally difficult to imagine Alexander sitting dutifully in a command post, pouring over situation maps and directing the movements of dozens of divisions from afar. The commander traded his lance and sword for maps, pencils, and telephones.

ERIC ZUESSE—Whereas the 9/11 event ‘justified’ America’s emergency rule and its increased weapons-sales, this impetus was waning as an excuse for continuation of the empire; and, so, when Barack Obama came into office in 2009, he promptly re-oriented toward the old Cold War targets, anti-Russia and anti-China planning and policies (his TTIP, TISA, TTP, overthrow-Assad, and overthrow-Yanukovych, etc. — overthrow any nation’s leadership that is at all friendly toward Russia and/or China), and this required him and Joe Biden to force Europe to commit to anti-Russia and anti-China policies; and, so, it required to split the world into a renewed Cold War without any need for an ideological (anti-‘communist’) excuse.

SPECIAL DOSSIER: The Democrats’ Coup Against the First Amendment
31 minutes readPATRICE GREANVILLE—It’s ironic that Fox News (despite its many despicable programs) still has some corners (i.e., Tucker Carlson, etc.) where the truth can be heard, whereas the supposedly more “respectable” media, overwhelmingly liberal, have deserted the public en masse. Carlson, of course, like the rest of the hosts on Fox News, not to mention the rest of the mainstream media, often presents a deeply flawed picture of reality. Fox—mirroring Republican biases—is for example a “China-hating” network, while the so-called “liberal media” remain obsessively Russophobic. In this brawl, however, the liberal media are firmly covering up and propping up the censorship-friendly “WOKE imperialist” model of fascistoid corporatism in which the Democrats are heavily invested, leaving only Fox and its allies to offer a platform to those voices who oppose such a development.
