P. GREANVILLE—As stated earlier, this regime of pervasive, insolent mendacity has allowed our rulers to perpetrate enormous crimes in our name. The Ukraine war has been sold, accordingly, to defend a non-existent democracy and deter an equally non-existent imperialistic Russia. Meanwhile, the genocidal massacre of Palestinians—righty (if belatedly) condemned at last by both international justice tribunals, ICC and ICJ—has been presented to public opinion as the Zionist apartheid state’s “right to self-defence,” a right, incidentally, that international law denies an occupier nation. The simple but most unpalatable facts, that the Ukraine mess originated in America’s longstanding desire to weaken, conquer, and balkanise Russia, and that the Palestinian tragedy stems directly from Anglo-American imperial designs for Mideast dominance, have been denied the court of public opinion.

THE CONTRADICTIONS CREATED BY THE RISE OF THE LIBERTARIAN TECH OLIGARCHS IN A FADING EMPIRE
PLUS: Glenn Greenwald - JD Vance Is Right About Censorship Laws4 minutes readEDITOR—In a wide-ranging critique, Garland tackles many of the inherent contradictions in the Trumpian libertarian approach to America’s maze of political and social issues, noting at the outset that though the chaotic rule of the “libertarian tech bros” spells a lot of trouble, confusion, and friction, they, at least, seem to have finally steered the US ship of state away from a nuclear war with Russia, China or even Iran, thereby granting the nation (and the world) “an existential reprieve.” Garland also battles mightily to sort out the political mess created by the Democrats’ Wokism, and how Trump’s team seems to be trying to slow down or stop the Biden camp’s late-hour defense of their bankrupt neocon, regime-change imperialist model. Garland notes as well the glaring contradiction and hypocrisy of Vance castigating the Europeans for their blatant persecution of free speech in connection with the putative rise of anti-semitism in Europe, while Brussels and the UK engage in high-handed cancellation of democracy rituals, such as election results in Romania, and meddling, again, in Georgia, Moldova and Hungary, a model of imperialist regime change long practiced and imposed by Washington itself.
